Quality of Life / Balancing / Bug Fixes

Auto equiping 'weapon pickups'

Previously, when you picked up a weapon from a 'random weapon pickup', you would equip it automatically. This was really annoying and disruptive, so 'automatic equipping' has been disabled. In the future, this will be a toggleable gameplay option in a future settings menu.

Weapon Balancing

Slightly buffed 'Mudshot' bullet spread, as well as added a max-stored-ammo value of [c]4[/c] to 'Rocket Launcher'.

Through playtesting, I realized the Rocket Launcher was too over-powered, but instead of directly nerfing it's damage output, I simply limited the max-stored-ammo. (a new feature)

That way, every rocket counts, and players are discouraged from spam-firing the Rocket Launcher.

Lotssss of bug fixes.

I playtested the game in multiplayer some more, found a bunch of bugs, and fixed them.

Minimap Colors Clarity

Previously, player colors in the minimap were as follows:

Enemy: red My team: green Myself: blue

This was very confusing with lots of playtesters, and so I aligned the minimap player colors to be as follows:

Myself: green Other players: the color of their team (or white, if in deathmatch and there are no teams)

This is now the same color system as in chat, as well as in the killfeed. (also a new feature!)

Record/Replay System Improvements

I added many new features and improvements to the record/replay system - which directly helped me greatly when recording footage for the newest latest gameplay trailer. (whoop whoop!)

Added features:

  • Automatic highlight recording when the local recording player gets a kill.

  • Dedicated UI for viewing all highlights in replay.

  • New system to setup, and replay a pre-set animated camera path to get nice smooth moving footage in replay.

Changelog

Updated: - A bunch of multiplayer bugfixes discovered in latest playtesting round - Changed it so picking up a weapon pickup doesn't automatically select it. - Will in the future be toggleable in game settings - Slightly buffed Mudshot bullet spread - Fixed bug where shooting rocket at player doesn't destroy the terrain. - Added max ammo count for Rocket Launcher. Players can't have more than 4 stored rockets at a time. - Added 'host' player marker in scoreboard, to indicate who the host of the match is - Updated the minimap to use consistent team blue/red team colors, instead of the previous green/red (for friendly/enemy players accordingly) which was too confusing - Added a killfeed mechanic (which only shows killfeeds involving real players) - Improved replay system: - Added camera path animation - Improved highlights-system with automatic kill highlights, as well as a dedicated UI for viewing highlights in replay - Ability to favorite/star specific replays in main menu UI
