changedWe have recently received reports from some players experiencing "fatal error" crashes after playing for a while under the DX12 mode. Thanks to a dedicated player who conducted detailed tests, we have been able to pinpoint the cause. After comparing with official sources, we have confirmed that this is a known stability issue with Unreal Engine 5 when using the DX12 + Lumen combination—specifically, a memory management bug in the engine's lighting calculations that can lead to crashes after extended gameplay.
fixedThe engine team has acknowledged related bugs in version 5.4, and while versions 5.5 and 5.6 fixed some of them, they introduced new instability. Therefore, simply upgrading the engine version is not a definitive solution at this time.
changedTemporary Workaround If you encounter crashes under DX12, we recommend temporarily switching to DX11 mode. According to player tests, DX11 runs stably for hours without crashing, and there is virtually no noticeable visual degradation (under DX11, Lumen automatically falls back to software mode, so the visuals remain excellent).
addedHow to Switch to DX11? You can change the graphics API from DX12 to DX11 in the game launcher or in the in-game graphics settings. If there is no direct option, you can add the [c]-dx11[/c] launch parameter (please refer to your platform's instructions for details).
changedWe sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and support. We will continue to monitor official updates from Unreal Engine and will inform you as soon as a more stable version is available.

Dear Players,

We have recently received reports from some players experiencing "fatal error" crashes after playing for a while under the DX12 mode.

The engine team has acknowledged related bugs in version 5.4, and while versions 5.5 and 5.6 fixed some of them, they introduced new instability. Therefore, simply upgrading the engine version is not a definitive solution at this time.

Temporary Workaround If you encounter crashes under DX12, we recommend temporarily switching to DX11 mode. We would like to extend a special thank you to player @TravUSMC88 for helping us identify this issue and providing a temporary workaround through their detailed testing. Your contribution is invaluable!

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and support. We will continue to monitor official updates from Unreal Engine and will inform you as soon as a more stable version is available.

Thank you for your continued support, and happy gaming! XinXian Net
