Battle Shapers changes
Hey Shapers,
Happy New Year! π
To kick off the year, we thought it'd be fun to share some of Battle Shapers' concept art through the Steam Collectibles features, which feature trading cards, badges, emoticons, and backgrounds.
We had come up with many different iterations of Ada's suits, various enemies & Overlords, and entire biomes; some were super close to making into the game, while some others.. well, let's just not talk about the centipede with tentacles.
Anyway, this batch of Trading Cards showcases our early environment concepts including the elevator shaft between levels, the Hyperloop Station just outside the Hideout, and an aquaponics station we originally wanted in the Gravity Garden, among others.
π΄ Trading Cards:
Here's a preview of all 10 Trading Cards. You'll be able to access them through the Battle Shapers game page in your Steam Library.
π Badges:
And here's a preview of all 6 badges, with the Omega foil badge featured in the center. The first badge is the Ada badge, followed by Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and finally Omega. This naming reflects Battle Shapers' end game Phantom Code difficulty system.
And because we could only make so many cards, here's a few more miscellaneous concepts to discover:
π’ New Elysium:
Check out these beautifully detailed environments we made early on! You'll recognize some of these rooms from the game, whereas others served as references.
πΎ Corrupted Gravity Garden:
We imagined a scenario in which various features in the Towers could be corrupted, including this majestic tree in the Gravity Garden.
π¦Ύ Ada Ideations:
We've teased a few of these before, but here's a lineup of fully geared Ada's! We ended up going with a lighter Adamant Suit but a heavier-duty fist.
Does Ada have hair? π€
π£ The Firestarter:
What was originally a single-barrel grenade launcher quickly became the three-barreled wonder you know as the Firestarter. More is more, always.
π Bee-based Baddie:
Shapers, meet the Mad Droner - the Madvatter's distant cousin. He's all buzziness and no play.
πͺ Mike's Mod Shop:
Huck was always a shopkeep, but we knew him as M1K3 before Hauly was introduced. M1K3 did not care for shoplifters.
Where do Hauly's shop items go when..? π€·
β Meemo's Coffee Brew:
We never gave Meemo a coffee shop, but we did make a custom limited blend for our studio! Once you get past the smell of jet fuel, it tastes a bit chocolatey and nutty. Not bad, really.
Aaand that's it for now!
Our team's back and tirelessly tinkering away, so you'll hear from us again soon.
Happy collecting,
Metric Empire
