New Features
You can now log in with Apple or Google accounts in addition to email. If you have an existing account that was created with an email, you can link these social providers on MadronaID and sign in with them. If you sign in with a social login that matches your existing email-based account, it will automatically link them. - We’ve implemented an anonymous login method to make it easier to hop into the game as a new player. At any time, you can link your anonymous account to a login method through the game settings. We highly recommend linking a login method to your anonymous account to ensure your game account does not get lost.
Changes
This update is the culmination of a massive overhaul of our backend systems. Over 100k lines of code were rewritten during this effort to fix several core architectural issues that we’ve noticed as we’ve grown, enabling us to prepare our systems to scale to a wider audience and, more importantly, lay the foundation for the numerous new features we’ve been cooking up. While this update is a massive win on the development side, we want to preface that on the player side, this update takes shape more as a bugfix/optimization update and should not have any major functional changes. That being said, please be sure to open a bug report if you are seeing any weird issues around connecting/staying connected to the server. - One unfortunate tradeoff we had to make due to this architectural shift was disabling the ability to interact with friend bases when the friend is online. You’ll still be able to visit bases that are online, just not assist or fight their encounters, and you’ll have the usual options available when they’re offline. Given that our position is that the whole assist system needs an overhaul and the level of effort that would’ve been required to implement a system to keep the base in sync with live external interactions, we felt that this was a worthwhile tradeoff for the time being to focus on delivering the features and content you have been looking forward to. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. - Previously, in the stats info panels for units, abilities that could stun would indicate their duration to be 1 turn longer than they actually were. This has now been corrected for clarity, and the change has no gameplay impact - We’ve updated a few more buildings with redrawn art as part of our ongoing effort to modernize the assets
Bug Fixes
Fixed enemy units sometimes displaying incorrect cooldowns on weapons - Fixed prep time issues on several units, such as the Mammoth Artillery's second attack - Spawn-on-death units now respect prep time - Fixed issues with freeze and ammo reload not pausing accordingly - Fixed an issue that incorrectly ignored global cooldown, causing some abilities to be used too frequently - Fixed issues with some buttons being unresponsive - Fixed an issue where selecting an ability while animations are running would become deselected when it becomes your turn again - Engine update to fix a crash that would occur on Windows - Improved error handling during app startup to reduce the chance of getting stuck on loading screens - Fixed issue where defense coverage would disappear when zooming to certain levels - Fixed issue where intro cutscene wouldn’t play after signing out and creating a new account - Fixed an issue that would cause some new missions on the mission screen to take a few seconds to start after tapping on them - Fixed an issue when viewing guild UI from a mail link - Fixed a localization issue for a countdown timer in guild UI modals
