Progress Report:

New Characters, New UI, and What's Next

It's been a busy stretch on Battle Charge. Some of it you'll see right away, some of it runs quietly under the hood — but it all adds up to a better game. Here's where things stand.

New Faces on the Battlefield

We've been working on new characters to fight alongside (and against) you. More variety in who's on the field means more variety in how a battle plays out — and we'll have more to show on these soon.

A Fresh Look

We've rolled in a whole new set of UI assets and rebuilt how the interface is structured. Menus are cleaner, faster, and finally starting to match the tone of the game itself.

We also built a new Winter main-menu scene — a proper 3D battlefield backdrop instead of a static image. It sets the mood the moment you launch the game.

Loading Screens With Personality

Loading now pulls from a rotating set of background scenes with hint text, so you pick up a tactical tip or two while the battle loads in.

Smoother Battles

We put real work into performance this stretch — optimizing snow, trees, and environment assets and rebuilding core systems so the action runs cleaner, especially when the field gets crowded.

In the Works

  • Character Selection screen — early version is in, currently being polished before it goes live.

  • Co-op companions — still a core goal; foundation work is ongoing.
