Hello everyone!
A few days after the store page went live, I realized there are a few things I need to clarify.
Regarding Languages Other Than Chinese
This is a game driven by its story (as you explore memories and uncover the truth), where you plan the use of action points to scout for players, train them, and proceed through text-based baseball matches.
Because the narrative takes up a significant portion of the game, the quality of localization will heavily impact the experience. However, from the very beginning of development until now, I have not planned to commission or collaborate with professional translators for different languages.
Despite this, I am aware that baseball is a popular sport in many countries, including those in Asia and North America.
So, my plan is to provide AI-translated versions for these languages, allowing players to decide for themselves whether to use them in-game. But to be clear, I have no ability to judge whether the translation results are accurate or even readable, nor do I have the ability to correct any errors. Therefore, even though these languages will be selectable in-game, they should be considered for reference only.
For this reason, until the day I can work with official translators, the store page for this game will not list languages such as English, Korean, or Japanese as officially supported.
Finding a translator is not part of my current plan, but this is just my current thinking. If things change in the future—for example, if the game sells unexpectedly well in a certain region—I might seek out translation assistance. But for now, this is the plan.
Below is a simple mockup. The translations in the image are temporary, and I haven't finalized their size or fixed text overflow issues. I will do my best to fix and test these aspects before launch to at least ensure that switching languages doesn't result in broken text formatting.
Development Progress & Estimated Release Date
By my estimation, the game's current development progress is somewhere between 25% and 40%.
I say 40% because the core systems for the story, player data, and matches are all done. Additionally, the systems for events, scouting, and data interfaces are also complete. This means what's left is mostly the more straightforward content, like fleshing out the interfaces for player development and connecting the gameplay loop. Theoretically, about 30% of the systems and 30% of the scriptwriting remain. Once that's done and the game runs smoothly, I'll continue to polish any unrefined content before release.
The 25% estimate comes from the fear of encountering unforeseen problems among the remaining tasks. If something comes up that is beyond my understanding or particularly difficult to implement, it could severely impact my development schedule. But there shouldn't be anything like that... right? ...Right?
In any case, my target release date is mid-March of next year (counting from the day I quit my job and started indie development). In my mind, the latest I would delay it to is the end of April... I think? If I encounter any significant issues that affect development, I should be able to feel it coming. At that point, I will post another announcement and update the release date, but I hope no delays will be necessary.
