Athelan Battlegrounds changes
Features
The first version of the puzzle maker is finally here! With this feature you can create scenarios over a large board where you decide where everything goes. This feature is meant to learn at your own pace, get creative and dive deep into the mechanics of the game. Here is a list of features this version currently supports:
Add/remove tiles, champions and hazards.
Increase HP beyond the maximum or set HP to specific numbers.
Set cooldowns, stacks and status effects on champions.
Determine if a champion needs to be killed or not to complete the puzzle.
Add flags that need to be captured to complete a level.
In the future we plan to add many more things like special win conditions, traps, doors, etc so that you can even make mini D&D campaigns!
This build also contains a significant change that allows players to play the game as a guest which will link their steam account to their game account. We made this change because new players frequently tend to not want to create in-game accounts when first exposed to a game. As such, they'll have the choice.
At full release of the game, since we plan to also go on android, the only way to play cross-platform will be to create the xsolla account in game, but if you plan to only play on Steam, you'll be able to continue as a guest. Should you choose to create an xsolla account in the future, you'll keep your progress made on the guest account. Anyone who had already made their xsolla account should be unaffected by this.
Balance
Adjusted the logic of AoEs so that their damage is applied all at the same time instead of sequentially. This means things like a Ming Thrust or an Iclyn blizzard will apply all of its damage before checking if it had follow up effects such as damaging Guardian-0 and removing a shield.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an error when Kiiwog's AoE attack hovered a target shielded by Guardian-0.
Fixed an issue where the extra cooldown from Takashi's egg would be removed immediately within the same turn when hitting an ally.
Update to the puzzle maker
Added an instant retry button and the Ctrl + Z command to undo the previous move. This should massively speed up new attempts of a puzzle.
Changed wording for Player A/B to "Player" and "Enemy"
Changed the color of the tab buttons in the puzzle editor to blue.
Fixed an issue while on certain editor tabs that prevented you from dragging the map around.
Fixed champion hover tooltip not displaying statuses beyond the first 3.
Removed crowd sounds in puzzles.
Changed functionality to allow Erlic and Volta to attack/drag enemies over gaps in puzzles. For volta this means she can either pull someone over or pull them to their death if there are no available tiles for the champion to stand on.
Improved loading times when finishing a puzzle.
Improved the aggression of AI champions in puzzles. If they are out of range and not on cooldown, they will now attempt to move towards the player.
Fixed a bug where pulling Kiiwog with Volta and successfully dealing damage did not give him a stack.
Fixed a bug that prevented Singular Mind from transforming into a champion that was set to dead in the puzzle editor.
Switched the positions of the Create & Explore tab in Community.
Changed the wording of Diana's Shrapnel Bomb to indicate that she deals damage to herself rather than just "die". This distinction matters now that we have damage prevention methods.
