Meet Professor Yalee
A new NPC has joined the hub: Professor Yalee. Maybe the most academic Yalee in all of Astral Prison, graduated from the very famous school: Yale(e) University. ːtaurusSmirkː He's now your go-to for everything related to the feature below.
In Astral Ascent we decided that every run's randomness, including loots, bosses, rooms, and more, is tied to a specific number between 1 and 999,999,999. From now you can define specific number so you can run the same seed twice, and you'll get the same RNG both times. That means if you loved how a run unfolded, you can experience it again, share it with friends, or use it to compare speedrun attempts on equal footing.
Where to find your seed?
Your current seed number is displayed in the bottom right corner of the main menu. It also appears on the death recap screen and in your run history.
How to set your own seed?
Head over to Professor Yalee in the hub. From his interface, you can manually type in a specific seed, generate a new random one, save your choice, or check "Keep Current Seed" to carry it over into your next runs. Uncheck the box, hit random, then save, and you're back to fully random runs.

Moding Tool
On a different note, Steam Workshop support is on its way for Astral Ascent. We'll go into more detail about what that means for the game in our next devlog, so stay tuned. Here's a glimpse of the modding tool:
