Ashfield Hollow changes
Excited to bring you a major update for the demo that includes gameplay fixes, survival balance tweaks, and new content to make the demo feel more complete and guided.
Demo Expansion
Demo Length: The demo now spans 10 in-game days (up from 3), giving you more time to explore survival, farming, and camp life.
- Manual QuestsAdded several new manual quests to make the early game more guided before full freedom kicks in.
Gameplay Fixes & Improvements
Healing Items: Bandages and First Aid Kits now correctly restore HP.
Hotbar Labels: Each hotbar slot is now numbered instead of all being labeled “RB.”
Boiling Water: You can now boil water in the kitchen oven — no more waiting for clear skies.
- Crop GrowthFixed an issue where crops would reset instead of maturing. They now grow normally.
Infirmary Recovery: Being sent to the infirmary now restores nutrition, thirst, and infection levels as well as HP.
Stat Limits: Stats can no longer drop below 0, preventing unfair recovery penalties.
Nutrition & Thirst: These stats now decline more slowly, and their impact on health happens at a gentler rate.
- Zombie ActivityAdded a zombie spawner to the West Wing of Camp , so expect occasional visitors from the forest.
- Sleep WarningFixed the midnight sleep notification so it correctly appears when it’s time to head to bed.
Tutorials & UI Updates
- New Hunger TutorialAdded a short guide on how to satisfy hunger, including how to cook and eat fish.
Tutorials Menu: You can now revisit all tutorials anytime from the pause menu.
- Map NavigationAdded flashing arrow icons near outdoor transfer points to make navigation clearer.
- Quit to DesktopAdded a Quit to Desktop button in the ESC menu.
Audio & Misc Fixes
Cooked Fish SFX: Eating cooked fish now plays the correct sound effect.
- NPC RoutinesFixed NPCs getting stuck at the bottom of the map after the infirmary event. They now behave as intended.
Hotbar Item Replacement: Hotbar items now auto-replace intelligently (e.g. Dirty Water Canteen → Clean Water Canteen).
Survival is now smoother, more forgiving, and better structured, but make no mistake, Camp Ashfield is still dangerous. Stay alert out there!
