removedNECESSARY NERFSThis update contains several balance changes and nerfs, so I wanted to explain the reasoning behind them. I do not want to remove the ability for players to intentionally create broken builds from Arms of God. In fact, I think discovering overpowered combinations is one of the most fun parts of the game.

Future game modes, difficulty levels, and endgame content will be designed with those players in mind, allowing me to preserve powerful build possibilities while still providing meaningful challenges for those who want to push the game further.

Today's update continues that effort and includes the following changes:

NECESSARY NERFS

This update contains several balance changes and nerfs, so I wanted to explain the reasoning behind them. I do not want to remove the ability for players to intentionally create broken builds from Arms of God. In fact, I think discovering overpowered combinations is one of the most fun parts of the game.

The goal is to make players experiment, discover interactions, and learn how different systems work together. If a build becomes absurdly powerful because you figured something out that most players haven't discovered yet, that's great. However, if something is obviously OP from the very beginning and requires no knowledge, experimentation, or decision-making, then it probably needs a nerf.

That's the principle I'll continue following when balancing the game going forward.

At the same time, I know some players are looking for a greater challenge. Future game modes, difficulty levels, and endgame content will be designed with those players in mind, allowing me to preserve powerful build possibilities while still providing meaningful challenges for those who want to push the game further.

UPCOMING QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATE

Before new game modes arrive, there are three important features I want to add first:

  • 100% refund system

  • Loadouts / Presets in the HUB

  • Minimum Prayer count system

These features should make experimentation significantly easier and reduce the frustration of rebuilding characters and trying new combinations.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

For the next couple of weeks my main focus will be on bug fixing and gamepad navigation improvements. Thanks for bearing with me. Some of these issues are more complicated than they may appear.

To help speed things up, the team has recently grown by two additional people, which should allow us to tackle problems faster and prepare future updates more efficiently.

Also, thank you for helping Arms of God reach over 1,000 reviews on Steam. Seeing so many people playing the game has honestly made all the post-launch crunch worth it. Steam post image
