I'd like to say that first I am very humbled by the positive reception ArmaCulture has received so far. Not to mention the constructive feedback that everyone has left me- it is always helpful in order to grow as a developer.

I figured now was a good time to let everyone know what my plans are for the future of this project.

As is, ArmaCulture is obviously incomplete. Ideally I would like there to be one more major update, that being the update that finishes the game campaign-wise, irons out the previous material, and overall refines the experience to make it feel more 'finished.' I can't think of a good way to format this, so Instead I'm going to create a laundry list of things I'd like for there to be in that final product.

Here it is:

  • Five more days/nights to have the game end on the 30th of October.

  • (At least) Five more interactions, preferably 8-9 more to make each new game feel more fresh.

  • Three different endings, given based on your overall reputation at the end.

  • Higher teirs of research, including an overall re-balance of unlocks.

  • Re-done art for a few of the not-so-good looking older sprites. (Character portraits as well.)

  • More War Stories, as well as an extra challenge mode** for progress in the campaign.

  • Steam Achievements.

  • Overhauled UI for the title screen, menus.

  • Difficulty tiers (Including a harder mode for veteran players and a mode that allows you to slow down time.)

  • A more robust, integrated tutorial.

  • Re-balance of the town, as well as adding a third shop keeper.

  • Adding a use for that currently unused third reputation meter (lol)

  • More music, perhaps some touch ups on old songs.

  • Overall balances, bug fixes.

  • Finally finish drones.

** The challenge mode is something I already have nearly finished, and I was considering releasing it soon, although it would take some more work. Think of it as a side arcade mode that allows you to test your speed at factory building. If this is something anyone is very interesting in having sooner, let me know.

TIMELINE

So what is the timeline for this? I'll be upfront and say I don't have a solid idea at the moment. From the first demo on Gamejolt to the version you all have now on Steam, it took about 2 months of work, but that was because the previous 6-8 months had been spent getting the basic systems and core game play set up. To finish this game as ambitiously as I intend to above, I am expecting at least 4 or 5 months of work. However, my personal life is becoming increasingly busy and I can't promise I will be able to work on the game as quickly as I was in the past. Not to mention the fact that I've been taking a break from development on the game, and I still need more time to recoup. All in all, its going to be a bit of a wait, that much is certain.

So that's all for now.

Please, let me know in the comments what you would like to see in the final version of this game. If there is anything here you'd like to know more about, feel free to ask. I want to make sure not to disappoint.

Thank you for playing!
