What changed

0 fixes0 additions4 changes0 removals
  • UI and audio
  • Balance
  • Gameplay
changedAdditionsThe setup scenes now include a settings button, so you can adjust things like volume while waiting for people in a lobby
changedChangesThe board generator was slightly adjusted to favor a stronger noise pull towards the center in the last row of nodes. That should hopefully generate more interesting looking maps with more visual clarity
changedChangesThe econ and military music themes have made their return! Now instead of being focused on the current phase (which usually is "combined" anyway), in the first 1/3 of the game, the calmer but more factory-like econ theme plays. After 2/3 of the game, it switches to the combined theme, in a mix of economy and rising military tension. The final third of the game gets the military theme entirely
changedSo what's next?Next week I'll implement the parallax toggle completely and also make sure the colors get updated when you change them. After that, it's all about the campaign. More on that next time though!

I'm back from my little vacation and in order to get back into Argebe, I've made some small but hopefully impactful changes and additions to the game!

Additions

  • The animated background now does Parallax stuff, so it also moves with the camera but slower than the actual foreground to convey an illusion of depth

  • The setup scenes now include a settings button, so you can adjust things like volume while waiting for people in a lobby

Changes

  • The board generator was slightly adjusted to favor a stronger noise pull towards the center in the last row of nodes. That should hopefully generate more interesting looking maps with more visual clarity

  • The econ and military music themes have made their return!

Accessibility

  • The background parallax can be toggled (Side note: the actual functionality of that is not implemented yet, but you can set the setting in the settings)

  • The individual player colors of player 1 to 6 + neutral can be customized if you have trouble telling the default colors apart

So what's next?

Next week I'll implement the parallax toggle completely and also make sure the colors get updated when you change them. After that, it's all about the campaign. More on that next time though!
