Arena Arcade Fest changes
A new patch is on the air! Two new custom games (Maze Munch! and Maze Munch Vs!) and three new achievements (two of them for the new custom games, one for Mine Clearing!
Custom games
Maze Munch! and Maze Munch VS! can be played on custom games with the following settings:
Set the map width and height. Play in absurdly big maps or super small maps (or anything in between). Your choice. (Map height ratio maximum and minimum depends on the selected width)
Number of lives. (Min. 1 life, max 15 lives). Do you want a challenge or do you want to just finish
Number of enemies. Chill around or have a more frenetic game. This setting maximum scale with the map size, although you can always set it to 0.
No time limit. Play until is done

Improvements
While working on these games to make them compatible with custom settings, the following was improved or changed:
Changed the render system to avoid performance loss on big maps. Performance should be better now in bigger maps that it was in the default maps before the patch
Changed the timing on when the CPU players pathfinding fires, so they don't do it at the same time to avoid hiccups on bigger maps
Changed the generation of the map to be more structured. As you can see on the screenshot there are no more big open areas and looks more like a maze
Some bugs were found and eliminated related on pathfinding of the CPU. CPU player should be faster and able to finish more regularly (not getting stuck)
Quality of life
A new button has been added on the pause menu when a custom game is played. "Force finish". This button will end the match with the current results. This is only available when only CPU players are playing. As custom games don´t have a running playlist, finishing the game when the player(s) are finished playing is a nice to have if you don´t care about CPUs nor you want to compare yourself against them.
New Achievements
| Steam post image | Big Munch Race In a custom game of Maze Munch VS!, win a race on a map of at least 18 height with no enemies and at least 1 CPU player |
| Steam post image | No 9 Lives In a custom game of Maze Munch!, clear a map of at least 38x22 starting with 1 life |
| Steam post image | Faster Than Perfect In a normal game of Mine Clearing!, clear the board first against at least one Competent CPU |
I haven't decided which new custom games to add yet, but more will be added in another patch in the next few weeks!
