addedThis update brings the visual and audio polish of the demo up to the standard of the full game, in anticipation of its launch on July 29! This includes new & improved VFX that help the combat backgrounds feel more alive, dice bodies feel more special, and attack effects with loads more polish. There are also brand new SFX, which improve the feel of interacting with the game! The unit ability's visuals have been reworked to help them stand out more, as well as the costs during events. All in all, the game feels even better to play now!
changedOn top of all that, more improvements, bug fixes, and balance adjustments than I'd care to list out. But I'll share a couple of my favorites:
changedSpiked Rune, Toughness Rune, Protection Body, and Aggressive Body now scale over the course of the run: These runes and bodies were quite good early, but their usefulness faded as the enemies difficulty progressed in the later areas. Now they have more output as the run goes on! The Spiked an Toughness rune also reward taking elite fights with even more scaling.
removedMight and Fortitude Runes now give 2 might/fortitude, respectively. However, they now no longer trigger with each instance of a repeat spell. This was the one that was hardest to pull the trigger on, since it feels so cool to do. However this was making the runes almost useless with non-repeat spells and impossibly broken on spells with 2 or more repeat. The effect of this was that it's almost impossible to balance spells with higher repeat numbers. Now the game is in a much healthier spot.
addedIn preparation for release, we are also making the demo more concise in order to build excitement for the full release. Don't forget that Archon Soul releases July 29th! If you don't have the game on your wishlist, you can add it here:
addedI hope you like the new and improved demo!
