Archangel: Demon Rush changes
Greetings, Archangels!
Patch 1.3.0 for Archangel: Demon Rush is now available. This is one of our most important updates so far, bringing visual improvements, render changes, performance optimizations, gameplay fixes, and several adjustments to make matches more stable and fluid.
The game’s visual presentation has received a major improvement: the image now looks sharper, more realistic, and more defined, with improvements to lighting, post-processing, visual effects, and materials.
We have also made important optimizations during match progression, resulting in a much more stable and optimized gameplay experience. In our internal tests, the game remains stable at 60 FPS during gameplay.
Main Highlights
General improvements have been made to the visual render.
Image sharpness and clarity during gameplay have been improved.
Lighting and post-processing have been improved.
Several systems that affected performance during match progression have been optimized.
The game’s visual identity has been updated with a new logo and icon.
A new trailer has been added to Steam.
Visual and Render Improvements
Improvements have been made to the visual render to achieve a more realistic, clean, and sharp look.
Lighting has been improved.
Post-processing has been improved.
The visual effects and color palette of the electric enemy have been improved.
Lava effects and enemy textures have been improved.
The visual effects of the summoner enemy have been improved.
Optimization
Performance during match progression has been improved.
Optimizations have been added to demon corpses.
Fog-related optimizations have been made.
CPU Time-related issues have been reviewed.
The FPS impact when breaking boxes has been reviewed.
Fixed the logic of destructible objects that were not being properly removed after breaking and could severely affect performance.
The detection system has been changed to improve performance.
Gameplay and Controls
Fixed an issue that could break the character’s behavior when attacking and jumping.
Fixed an issue where the event attack could get stuck.
Fixed an issue where shooting could get stuck in the air.
Aim assist has been adjusted to be less aggressive.
Fixed an issue that allowed the player to aim after dying.
Fixed an issue that allowed the player to run while draining life.
Fixed an issue where aiming could cause unwanted snapping.
Portals, Waves, and Matches
Portal opening and closing timings have been adjusted.
Fixed the timing of the first enemy spawn in Infinite Mode so it appears as soon as the portal opens.
Fixed an issue where enemies could get stuck in portals after a certain point in the match.
Added the ability to randomize the order in which enemies appear in each wave in Standard Mode, making waves feel more varied.
Enemy avoidance values have been adjusted to improve spacing and distance between enemies during waves.
Rock collisions in portal areas have been reviewed.
Civilians
Changes have been made to civilian behavior to make them feel more natural and less predictable.
Match Objects and Gameplay Elements
The explosive decoy mannequin has been reworked.
The medkit has been reworked.
The blocking turret has been reworked.
The explosive barrel has been reworked.
New meshes and textures have been added for the medkit, mannequin, blocking turret, and explosive barrel.
The explosive barrel logic has been reviewed and fixed.
The mannequin logic has been reviewed and fixed so it works correctly.
Animations have been added to the mannequin.
Enemies and Effects
Fire and electrified states on enemies have been reviewed.
Fixed cases where some enemies were not properly receiving fire or electric effects.
Fixed an issue related to the Celloid and fire effects.
Blade turrets now generate blood when hitting enemies.
The visual consistency of impacts, blood, and effects during combat has been improved.
Collisions and Camera
Fixed camera collision channels on turrets.
Fixed camera collision channels on destructible map elements.
Fixed collision issues in portal areas.
Adjusted the visual range of the hammer ability so it better matches its VFX.
UI and Visual Identity
A new logo has been designed and implemented.
A new icon has been implemented.
The visual identity has been updated inside the game.
A new trailer has been added to Steam.
