We’ve refreshed our Arcane Eats demo with a GIANT update, and it’s in the Steam Next Fest!
What’s new in the demo? Now you can play all the way through Week 2! Another whole week means twice the time to pull your combos together and get your deck cooking. You’ll also see…
New celebrity chef judge: Jewelia Crag-Child!
New customers like vampires, werewolves, robots, and gelatinous cubes.
New card type – Cooktop Enchantments – for a flavorful new layer of strategy.
New special ingredients to draft before judgement days, like Dragon Egg and Watcher Stalks.
New phone call events! Invite a vampire couple for date night, but don’t let them eat your other guests! Survive a toddler birthday dinner with Goreflinger the Terrible and his very tired parents. Can you keep the Cursed Blood Oranges safe for one night so the cult can use them for brunch mimosas?
And heaps of balance changes and bug fixes since the first demo.
Steam Next Fest is a huge opportunity for us to get Arcane Eats in front of new players and gather feedback while there's still time to season and polish the game before launch. If you want to help us make the most of it, now is the perfect time to give the demo a play and send us your thoughts. And maybe tell a friend? We'd be incredibly grateful.
Arcane Eats Demo Last week we were thrilled to be in the Summer Game Fest in two showcases: Women-Led Games and the PC Gaming Show! For the PC Gaming Show, we put together a very special segment with one of our most famous fantasy chef judges, Gorgon Ramsey! And as you’d expect… he was quite spicy in the recording booth. Check it out, if you can take the heat:
Prior to all this shouting and waving our arms around, I know we’ve been kind of quiet for the last few months – and if you know us, you know that the quieter we are, the harder we’re working.
We crafted our third class deck, the meticulous wizard and warlocks of The Order. We’ve summoned an epic council of celebrity chef judges – there are now 9 bosses plus an ultimate elder god to face! We’ve imbued hordes of customers with personalities and voices. We’ve conjured up an entire army of kitchen staff for you to hire, with everything from an ogre paladin dough-kneader, to a haunted cat waiter, to an extremely over-caffeinated goblin barista. In this last month, we’ve been feverishly scribing new random phone call events, to make sure there’s always something new and strange happening in your restaurant.
The game is getting big, friends.
Flavorfully and overwhelmedly yours,
Andrea, Wonderbelly Games
