We've been hard at work this year adding tons to Arcane Eats, and today we're sharing more of it with you: we’ve expanded the Arcane Eats demo with an update that doubles how much you get to play!
We’re also excited to be participating in the Women Led Games showcase today and the PC Gaming Show on Sunday, where we’ll share more about what we've been working on. Check out the showcases at womenledgames.com and pcgamingshow.com and gobble up all the awesome games being made by talented folks around the world.
In our giant demo expansion, you can now play all the way to the end of Week 2, which means that you now get to face the judgement of a giant new chef boss: Jewelia Crag-Child! Jewelia is a mountain of a chef with a hunger to match, and she’s eager to taste the gems you’ve been cooking up. Don’t skimp on the butter.
Jewelia is, of course, inspired by one of my personal favorite chefs: Julia Child, an absolute legend. She was truly a giant woman (6’2”!) with an enormous love of food, who basically started the whole idea of cooking on television. But did you know that she didn’t really learn how to cook until her late 30s? Before she trained as a chef, she served in the Strategic Services during WWII, where – no lie – her first foray into cooking was experimenting with various concoctions to use as shark repellent. I grew up watching re-runs of her shows, and more than anything, what stuck with me was how fearless she was of things not going right. She was brutally honest about failure as a part of cooking, but she brushed it off with a sense of humor and encouragement. As she said, "If you're alone in the kitchen and you drop the lamb, you can always just pick it up. Who's going to know?"
So are you ready to cook up some fantasy combos for Jewelia? Go download our new extended demo and see if you can keep your restaurant open for an additional week with a whole new batch of rowdy customers. And hey, if you don’t make it through the first time, you can always just start again. Who’s going to know?
Arcane Eats Demo Flavorfully yours,
