Repeated intro
Hey friends,
What changed
- Balance
- Gameplay
- Store
- Events
It’s been a full, flavorful last couple of months, and we’re heading into the end of the year feeling very grateful (and very ready to flop on the couch with some cocoa).
Arcane Eats demo served
In November, we finally put the Arcane Eats demo out into the world, and wow! The response has been wonderful! Seeing so many people jump in, experiment with strange ingredient combos, laugh at the jokes, and immediately start theory-crafting their dream restaurants has been a delight. And yes, every time someone says something nice about the game, Bob and I high-five.
We also want to give a huge thank you to everyone who turned on game data tracking. All this data is delicious, of course, but it’s also a huge help to our testing and balancing efforts. For the stat nerds out there 🙋, in the last month of demo play:
The card with the highest win rate is Red Dragon Ribs
The kitchen staff with the highest win rate is Kott the Fairy Bottler (oh no, what does Guy Fairy have to say about that?!)
The special ingredient with both the lowest pick rate and the highest win rate is Black Pudding (cue my evil designer laugh, I love a scary card)
The Health Inspector has purified 2000+ cursed restaurants
And Guy Fairy has eaten well over 10K meals, someone get him a cholesterol check
But how about a snack?
We also got to share a little taste of what’s coming next at Wholesome Snack, where we showed off a sneak peek of a brand new deck of cards from our druid-inspired Grove chefs. These chefs lean into elemental spices, freshly foraged ingredients, and long simmering growth. In the video, I give a quick intro to one of these chefs, Kale Wanderbrook – a halfling who roams the wilds with an adorable squirrel familiar.

Roundguard is staying frosty
On the Roundguard side of things, our annual Stay Frosty Winter Event kicks off on December 20. Expect snow flurries and festive flair in our winter themed daily events that last through the new year. Roundguard will also be on sale on Steam and mobile throughout the holiday if you’re looking to revisit it or share it with someone new.
Good times and full bellies
And now it’s time for us to take a little time to rest with some good food and probably too many cookies. We’re so excited for what’s ahead, but for now, we’re wishing you a cozy end of the year and a happy holiday season. Take care!
Flavorfully yours,
Andrea, Wonderbelly Games
