Some enthusiastic players mentioned before that they really liked the flamethrower idea. Well, I thought it was pretty cool too, so I went ahead and added it. Hope everyone enjoys it.This is another big update coming just one month after the last one. Together with the character from last month, this is the final new character for now—at least that’s the current plan.I’ve been pulling all-nighters during development lately and my body had some issues, but I’m feeling much better now. Going forward I’ll focus my energy on levels and the random skill pool to make the game more fun overall. Some players saw me mention in a previous update that I’m working on a new game and asked whether I’ll still keep updating this one. My answer is yes, I’ll definitely keep updating it. As long as I can think of interesting level ideas and mechanics, I’ll continue adding them. Everyone can rest assured.
A few players reported that the game basically won’t run on a GTX 1050—it’s too laggy. When I tested it myself, the lowest spec that can actually handle it is around the RTX 2060 level. On the optimization front, I have to admit I’m just one person developing the game alone, so I really don’t have the same resources as a 7–8 person team or a proper studio. That said, I did try a few optimization tricks in this update. Still, there are some regrets—for example, the flamethrower on this final character is still a bit performance-heavy. I went back and forth for a long time balancing the number of particles and the visual effect, and in the end I couldn’t bring myself to cut it down too much.
