addedHow is the progress going? There have been a few major setbacks from laws & regulations to financial setbacks. However, The progress has been going strong as the whole team is now working simultaneously on different tasks to progress faster rather than when I had to do everything (aside from models) myself for the unity version. Therefore, the game is not "dead" or "abandoned" it is actually progressing faster than ever. but it is up to the new developers to decide when will they release new footage but I am sure when they do it will be worth it!
addedThe reasons behind the lack of updatesThe reason behind the lack of updates for the Unity version is that the rest of the team is now focusing on the Unreal remake so that it comes out as soon as possible because they are setting new standards for the content in game. Therefore, the new models and content cannot be used with the current game system as it has limitations in certain aspects.
changedThe reasons behind the lack of updatesThe reason behind the lack of news is that the rest of the team do not want to show WIP as they want to avoid any negative criticism similar to what AAA games have been getting when showing early alpha/beta footage. Personally, I was against the idea as I always loved to involve the community with the development process to get feedback and improve the content as much as I could, but it is their call and I support them as I have faith in their skills and abilities to make something good in the end.
changedPersonal message from the unity developerAbout 9 years ago I started to experiment with unity as a kid in school and taught myself programming out of curiosity, over time the project got better and bigger then got scraped many many times as I kept changing concepts till I met the rest of the team. After I met the current Apex Point team we started brainstorming ideas and we came up with the current concept of the game which we all dreamt of, but having little skills at the time I made some mistakes in the game logic which troubles us till this day with unexplainable bugs for certain players. Due to this issue, I decided to remake Apex Point over a year ago with the original plan to rework it in Unity game engine just with much better logic and more features. However, unity changed its pricing policy and many developers got mad at unity so we decided to experiment with other game engines till the majority of the developers settled on Unreal engine 5. It saddens me that I cannot finish the project that I started but I understood that this project is bigger than when I had originally started it so I accepted that it needs to keep going even if it won't include me, as long as the majority of the community and the developers agreed with the changes.
changedPersonal message from the unity developerAlthough I spent years working on this project and had countless sleepless nights that caused me health issues that I still suffer from till this day, I made great memories and met great friends and I was honored to even have a community like the one we built together! I would like to thank every one of this amazing community that helped me and the whole team to make it this far as I never even thought about the project going commercial when I first started it. I would also like to thank every developer in Apex Studio for the great memories we made together and for believing in Apex Point, it was truly an honor. I hope you enjoyed the current version of game and I hope you all enjoy the Unreal Engine remake much more! This journey was truly an honor for me and I am forever grateful for all of you and I apologize for all the bugs and issues that we had but I hope you enjoyed the game as much as possible and I hope you enjoy the Unreal remake even more. Goodbye.

To clarify the development situation, as some of you may know, myself (the sole unity developer and programmer for Apex Point) and "Amris" (marketing manager, video editor & developer) have been out of the development team for the Unreal remake for more than a year as I could not adapt as quickly as expected to Unreal engine after 7+ years of using Unity especially for a project this big, as for "Amris", he had no work to do in the last year as the team didn't want to show any unfinished content. However, our team got bigger as time went and another member in the team became the active unreal developer since then as he was more used to Unreal Engine, as well as being a faster learner, he was able to progress at a much faster pace than me. I am still here with the developers as a friend to help them whenever I possibly can with ideas/guidance but I have faith in their abilities and skills to develop an amazing game that I am excited to play myself!
