Anomaly President - Road to Early Access #1

Welcome to the first episode of Road to Early Access, where we share the work-in-progress bits of Anomaly President, a presidential roguelike action game where you gather votes by day and fight brainwashed fanatics by night.

We've been working hard on Anomaly President, and we're so excited to finally pull back the curtain and show you how it's being made.

Behind the Scenes: Fluffies, Campaign Bus, and More!

Backing up your campaign is a team of Fluffies. They're very cute, capable, and they are quite tired of being oppressed by the current evil president.

You'll work with them to upgrade your campaign bus, dive into some base-building, ask for their help during combat, and try to keep your head above water as you juggle your double life.

Look how cute she looks despite being born as a spiky maul that’s about to obliterate the Evil President’s henchmen.

We've been inspired by lots of different themes while working on Fluffies. The ones below are just a glimpse into the number of Fluffies we’ve been designing.

Big cinema fan over here. So making this Fluffy was a no-brainer.

Another no-brainer one is a kamikaze Fluffy, naturally.

Finisher Animations

We're also working on finisher animations in the boss fights. While there's still internal debate on the one for the Security Minister,

One of the most powerful pawns of the Evil President, Security Minister is incredibly strong; despite being torn into half in this animation.

Here are three iterations we've worked on so far.

This finisher is still a work in progress. We've tested a few different versions but we're keeping our options open. We might even go in a completely new direction based on your feedback, so let us know what you think.

The Abomination

The Abomination is another boss fight currently in development. While there is still plenty of work ahead, we're excited to share an early glimpse of what's to come.

As you can see, The Minister of Public Relations sits so arrogantly on the head of the Abomination during the boss fight. We've explored different options to include her in the finisher as well.

Abomination is a disgusting beast controlled by the Minister of Public Relations. Here’s one of the iterations we’ve made for the Abomination boss fight finisher.

We also have an alternative version where the Minister of Public Relations falls to the ground. It’s pretty cool but there’s still some internal debate on it, with animations still being polished.
