v1.3 Spotting Anomalies Update

Hello all! Today, I am dropping the biggest change thus far in Anomaly Exit history! With most of the bugs squashed since my last update, this update is focused on a design oversight in the gameplay loop.

addedTHE NEW FEATURE IS: - Anomaly Spotting
changedTo keep it short: - You will now need to mark the anomaly in order to be able to progress to the next station - If you mark the anomaly incorrectly, you die - If either you or one of your friend marks the anomaly correctly, you (and your friends) can go to the next station
addedI have given the station a pass over with the new feature. So it is all accommodated for (as far as my testing could go).
removedThis also means station skipping or guessing is no longer a viable option. On paper it sounded good, but in play it just allowed people to avoid the gameplay loop altogether (and at that point is it even fun anymore).
changedOn the bright side, this also means there is more control over the length of the game. Thus, I have decreased the number of stations needed to be correct before you can win.

THE NEW FEATURE IS: - Anomaly Spotting

To keep it short: - You will now need to mark the anomaly in order to be able to progress to the next station - If you mark the anomaly incorrectly, you die - If either you or one of your friend marks the anomaly correctly, you (and your friends) can go to the next station

I have given the station a pass over with the new feature. So it is all accommodated for (as far as my testing could go).

This also means station skipping or guessing is no longer a viable option. On paper it sounded good, but in play it just allowed people to avoid the gameplay loop altogether (and at that point is it even fun anymore).

On the bright side, this also means there is more control over the length of the game. Thus, I have decreased the number of stations needed to be correct before you can win.

Other issues I am investigating: - Player voice being disembodied randomly

This appears to likely happen when there is huge network lag. So for now, the only way to fix the voice (if it occurs) is to change the host to someone that has a stable connection.

Anyways, now that I've addressed the design issue. I can confidently continue working on the other things I've been hoping to get in.

So stay tuned! ExamlGuy
