addedA few days ago, we officially wrapped up the Alpha Test of Animula Nook. These 12 days have been a cherished journey, and we truly treasure every moment spent with you. Thank you for your love, your trust, and for starting this tiny new life alongside the Minies and us.
changedWe’ve been truly moved by the thousands upon thousands of messages shared across our community. While we couldn’t reply to everyone individually, please know that your voices have been heard loud and clear. Every single suggestion has been woven into our daily dev notes.
changedIn fact, seeing so much passion from you has put Dilly on high alert! She is now strictly following Starside’s instructions, "supervising" our team to ensure every improvement—from unscripted hiccups to areas needing extra care—is handled swiftly. After all, the Minies are already counting down the days until they can welcome you home again! 🌟
changedI. Visuals👨💻: We want to be honest with you—the current art style is still evolving. Balancing high-end visuals with smooth performance (frame rate, memory, and power consumption) across different PC setups is a delicate challenge, and some effects haven't reached our ideal state yet. We are optimizing across several core layers:
changedII. Controls👨💻: We are reconstructing our core 3C systems (Character, Controls, and Camera) from the ground up. This includes overhauling our movement and collision logic to ensure a more natural "grounded" feel. By our next meeting, you’ll find that moving and playing in Minietopia has become much more natural and fluid.
addedIII. Building① Regarding Pre-built Houses: We’d like to share our original thinking: Based on our research before the test, we understand that every Wishweaver has their own pace—not everyone enjoys or has the time to gather materials and build every structure from scratch. To balance the needs of different players within the limited test period, we opted for a system that combines pre-built houses with free-form components. These pre-built houses act as a "stepping stone" to help you settle in during the early stages, providing a solid foundation for future expansions and decorations. This approach also ensured everyone had enough time to experience other features during the test. That said, we’ve already introduced a vast array of building blocks, railings, and floor tiles for those who want to build freely. In the future, we will introduce components with even greater creative freedom , such as individual walls and ceilings , allowing you to craft larger and more personalized homes.

Hi Wishweavers,

It’s so good to be back with you.

A few days ago, we officially wrapped up the Alpha Test of Animula Nook. These 12 days have been a cherished journey, and we truly treasure every moment spent with you. Thank you for your love, your trust, and for starting this tiny new life alongside the Minies and us.

We’ve been truly moved by the thousands upon thousands of messages shared across our community. While we couldn’t reply to everyone individually, please know that your voices have been heard loud and clear. Every single suggestion has been woven into our daily dev notes.

In fact, seeing so much passion from you has put Dilly on high alert! She is now strictly following Starside’s instructions, "supervising" our team to ensure every improvement—from unscripted hiccups to areas needing extra care—is handled swiftly. After all, the Minies are already counting down the days until they can welcome you home again! 🌟

This Alpha was just the first draft of our dream. Now, let’s take a look at how Minietopia is evolving through your eyes.

---

I. Visuals

🙋:"I want to see more details; the lighting and textures could be more natural."

👨💻: We want to be honest with you—the current art style is still evolving. Balancing high-end visuals with smooth performance (frame rate, memory, and power consumption) across different PC setups is a delicate challenge, and some effects haven't reached our ideal state yet. We are optimizing across several core layers:

① Models & Textures: In a miniature world, everyday objects are magnified. We are completely overhauling scenery models and textures with high-precision details to ensure every corner stands up to close inspection. The character models for Minies will also be further polished to enhance the overall visual quality.

② Materials & Details: We are introducing specialized material upgrades for complex elements like hair, water, and unique objects.

③ Lighting & Atmosphere: We are exploring lighting styles that better fit the vibe of Minietopia. This process requires extensive tuning and may take some time to perfect, likely reaching its final form by our official launch.

---

II. Controls

🙋:"Walking and running should feel more fluid; the camera controls and overall handling need to be more comfortable."

👨💻: We are reconstructing our core 3C systems (Character, Controls, and Camera) from the ground up. This includes overhauling our movement and collision logic to ensure a more natural "grounded" feel. By our next meeting, you’ll find that moving and playing in Minietopia has become much more natural and fluid.

III. Building

🙋:"Why pre-built houses? Can the construction tools be more convenient?"

👨💻: Building a dream home in Minietopia is something many Wishweavers look forward to.

① Regarding Pre-built Houses: We’d like to share our original thinking: Based on our research before the test, we understand that every Wishweaver has their own pace—not everyone enjoys or has the time to gather materials and build every structure from scratch. In the future, we will introduce components with even greater creative freedom, such as individual walls and ceilings, allowing you to craft larger and more personalized homes.

② Regarding Tools: In terms of construction operations, we are continuously refining the core interaction experience, including aiming precision, camera control, and movement speed within the building mode. High-demand features like Undo/Redo, Batch Operations, Search/Filters, and Alignment Assistants are officially on our roadmap to make building as effortless as playing with blocks.

IV. Optimization, UI & Guidance

🙋:"The game is too heavy for many devices. And there’s insufficient guidance, I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing."

👨💻:

① Optimization: Achieving smooth performance across a vast range of hardware is a universal challenge, but it's one we’ve been committed to since Dev Diary #3.

The reality of PC gaming is that hardware specs vary drastically. This requires us to dive deep into testing and fine-tuning, often making tough calls to find that perfect balance between breathtaking visuals and smooth performance. This test has provided us with a massive amount of invaluable data to guide those decisions. Moving forward, we are forming a dedicated Technical Optimization Task Force specifically to tackle your feedback on stuttering, overheating, and frame drops.

We’ve also heard your concerns about our high spec requirements. Please rest assured—we are working hard to lower these barriers and ensure Minietopia is optimized for a much wider range of devices.

② UI & Guidance: We are revamping the New Player Experience, including clearer task instructions and more intuitive menu navigation. Many of these improvements are already in development and will be revealed soon.

---

V. Gameplay & Content Expansion

🙋:"I want more to do! I’d love more Minies and more activities."

👨💻: For our next meeting, Minietopia will undergo a massive expansion:

① Exclusive Miniature Experiences: More gathering, exploration, and interactive gameplay designed specifically for the "shrunk down" perspective.

② Minie System Upgrade: New races of Minies with unique backgrounds will join the world. We’re also adding more vivid interactions and exclusive stories to unlock as your friendships grow.

③ Wishweaver Growth System: A redesigned level-up system to help you document your life in the miniature world. Your memories will be captured in a story written by you.

④ Life Skill Refinements:

  • Performance: Better rhythm detection and more music scores.

  • Cooking: A total overhaul, including batch production.

  • Planting & Dance: Smoother controls and more variety in crops and choreography.

⑤ Photography System: Currently in the works! You’ll soon be able to capture every magical moment in Minietopia.

⑥ Social & Adventure: We’re adding more ways to connect with friends—from co-op toys and emotes to a smoother, punchier combat feel in the Demeteor Ascent for those seeking a fun challenge.

---

VI. Other Frequent Feedback

① Wupa: We’re planning a Wupa companionship system so your fluffy friend can play a bigger, more meaningful role in your daily life.

② Day/Night Cycle: The technical side is ready, but we’re fine-tuning the art to make sure the night in Minietopia feels truly magical. It’s worth the wait!

③ Character Visuals: We’ve heard your feedback on certain facial features looking a bit "off." We are adjusting these to make your avatars look more natural and endearing.

---

This is just a glimpse of what's coming. We are still a "seedling" that has just sprouted, but with your care, we know Minietopia will grow into something beautiful.

Thank you for walking this path with us.
