Animalia Survival changes
Update 162.0 - Steam Old Version(Default). Update 161.0 - Testpublic. Update 138.0 - Crossplayer
IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT SERVERS & UPDATE – REVIEW
We would like to update everyone about the recent issues and the fixes applied to the game and the servers. The updates were carried out with extreme urgency, and this notice serves as a consolidated review of the previous information:
REMOVAL OF CHRISTMAS CONTENT
We inform everyone that the special Christmas content has been removed from Animalia Survival.
The events, decorations, and temporary Christmas-related items have been disabled so that we can return the game to its standard state, preparing the environment for new updates and future content.
We thank everyone who participated in and enjoyed the Christmas event. Stay tuned, as new features are on the way!
By pressing ESC and accessing some menu options, it is now possible to return to the game more quickly by clicking outside the menu screen.
This improvement eliminates the need to press ESC multiple times to exit menus, making navigation faster and smoother.
NEW DAMAGE SYSTEM WILL BE ADDED TO ALL ANIMALS.
We would like to inform you about the new damage-received system, which causes a delay before a new attack. This system was recently added to the Barbarian Lion and the Cheetah.
How the system works: When an animal is attacked, it performs a damage animation, which generates a temporary delay in actions for a new attack (such as movement or pain reactions). This system was created to bring more realism to combat, simulating the real impact of injuries during confrontations.
About the delay: This delay is not a bug. It is part of the new system and represents the effect of pain suffered by the animal after taking damage.
Future implementation: Currently, the system is active only on the Barbarian Lion and the Cheetah, but it will be gradually expanded to all animals in Animalia Survival, ensuring a more realistic and balanced experience for everyone.
ADJUSTMENT NOTICE – BARBARIAN LION SIZE
We inform that the Barbarian Lion received a scale adjustment, reinforcing its size difference compared to the common African lion. New stats were also added. The model now presents a larger and more imposing build, highlighting its unique identity within Animalia.
Adjustment objective: This adjustment was made to improve visual and biological realism, emphasizing that the Barbarian Lion has a superior and larger build, without losing coherence with other lion species.
LION SKINS, DAMAGE SYSTEM AND CLIMATE
We inform that important adjustments were made to the lion skins, related to damage effects and the climate system.
Damage system adjustments: The visual damage effects on the skins were corrected and refined, ensuring that marks, wounds, and impacts appear more accurately and coherently on the animal’s body, without distortions or incorrect positioning.
Climate system adjustments: We identified an issue where some climate effects (such as snow, dust, and wetness) were sliding incorrectly over the lion’s body. This behavior was adjusted so that climate effects now properly stick to and behave correctly on the skins, increasing visual realism.
Adjustment results:
More stable and consistent skins
More realistic visual damage effects
Correct interaction between climate and body material
Overall improvement in visual quality during gameplay and animations
These adjustments are part of our continuous work on visual polish and realism, and they will be implemented in other animals in Animalia Survival.
LION IK (Inverse Kinematics)
We inform that an adjustment was made to the lion’s IK (Inverse Kinematics) system.
What was happening: Due to incorrect IK behavior, the lion was adopting a hunched posture, especially during stops or interactions with steep terrain.
What was adjusted:
Correction of spine alignment
IK adjustment to prevent improper body deformations
Posture now more natural and anatomical
Better transition between animations and terrain adaptation
Result: The lion now presents a correct and more realistic posture, maintaining visual stability during gameplay.
Added leopard climbing system
The Leopard’s climbing ability has been added
The leopard can now climb trees and some baobabs
Branches have been added to the map for nest construction
The map now features branches and logs scattered throughout the environment, allowing birds to use these resources to build their nests.
ADJUSTMENTS – IK OF OTHER ANIMALS
We inform that adjustments to the IK (Inverse Kinematics) system were also applied to other animals such as the Lioness, Hyena, and Elephant after identifying a specific issue related to lakes.
Cause of the issue: Lake physics was interfering with the IK system, causing lakes to be interpreted incorrectly. This resulted in leg deformations, abnormal limb positions, and incorrect adaptations to the lake when animals entered or remained in the water.
What was adjusted:
Correction of the interaction between lake physics and IK
Adjustment of surface detection to avoid limb deformations
Better leg adaptation when entering, leaving, or remaining in water areas
More stable and natural body posture
IK activated on rocks and stones across the map for all animals
Result: The Lioness, Hyena, and Elephant now present correct movement when interacting with lakes, without leg deformations or errors.
IMPLEMENTATION – CLIMATE INTERACTION (SNOW TRACKS)
We inform that the implementation of advanced interactions between animals and the climate system has begun.
Snowstorm and snow effect: During snowstorm climates and sandstorms, some animals have already started leaving visible tracks on the ground as they move. Footprints are marked in the snow, reacting to locomotion and the animal’s direction.
System objective:
Increase immersion and visual realism
Make the environment more dynamic
Current status: This system is already active for some animals, but it is still in the implementation and expansion phase. Gradually, the snow track effect will be added to other animals.
ADJUSTMENTS AND IMPROVEMENTS – MAP AND ENVIRONMENT
We inform that several adjustments have been made and are ongoing on the map and environment of Animalia Survival, focused on visual polish, realism, and gameplay.
Map fixes: Floating trees and rocks that were visibly out of place have been removed. Some floating objects may still exist, and we continue to scan the map to identify and gradually fix these cases.
Environmental adjustments and damage: The Plain, Swamp, and Waterfall areas received adjustments to environmental damage, making these biomes more coherent with their natural risks and survival impact.
New plants added: New plants have been added to the plain region.
New carcasses for survival: We are working on adding new zebra and elephant carcasses, which will serve as food sources to assist survival.
Day and night cycle test: A test will also be carried out on the day and night cycle system, aiming to adjust the temperature gameplay system.
We made important adjustments to the temperature system to improve realism and gameplay stability.
🔧 What was adjusted:
Rebalancing of the temperature damage curve, with progressive heat and cold effects adjusted
Correction and refinement of the temperature box, ensuring that environmental damage is applied correctly
These changes aim to improve the climate system, preventing incorrect or excessive damage in certain areas of the map, affecting babies, juveniles, and other stages from taking damage beyond the normal percentage.
We appreciate the community’s feedback and ask for understanding during this adjustment phase. We continue working to increasingly improve the game’s realism.
