Anchor's Lament 1.0.5 — Maritime Metamorphosis

Ahoy everyone! We have been working hard on this new content update, which will be our biggest yet by far. I'm not gonna waste anymore time, here are the details:

Two New Events!

We have cooked up two new events both based around making one thing turn into another:

Transmutation

  • Allows the player to transmute up to 3 units into another, random unit.

  • The new unit will receive a new ability based on the tags of the original unit. If you transmute a unit with the TOXIC tag, the resulting fish will have a poison-based ability.

    • Transmuted fish will appear with a star icon.

    • Transmuted fish cannot be transmuted again.

  • There's a rare chance this new ability will be adjacency-based, allowing for never-before-seen trigger chains.

  • There's an even smaller chance that the ability will be applied to a unit already in your active loadout, increasing it's rarity and buffing it's Block, Damage, and Healing.

Masterworking

  • Allows the player to turn Silver Ore into a random Masterworked equipment.

  • A Masterworked equipment will be twice as powerful as it's normal counterpart.

  • A Masterworked equipment will have a small star icon next to it when equipped on a unit.

Good luck remembering to save Silver Ores! Watch out with the "Sell All" button.

Three New Units!

These are exciting, they do something that no unit has done before — they create items!

Krill

  • After combat, creates a new Krill in your inventory if there is room

  • Deals 8 Damage

  • Deals 8 extra Damage per adjacent Krill

  • They spawn with a Diamond rarity, but with a sell value capped to 2.

    • Imagine the inflation if we didn't cap it.

      • It would be disastrous.

      • Like that short time where we had the glitch where you'd just get infinite money forever.

      • We do not talk about 1.0.4b

Sea Cucumber

  • After combat, creates a food item in your inventory if there is room.

  • Heals 5/6/7/8 HP.

Oyster

  • After combat, creates a treasure item in your inventory if there is room.

  • Gains 1 Gold every 8 beats.

Unit changes!

Remember the Sponge bunch? Known for selling for 11 gold and being a great money boost if you're lucky enough to get one in Washed Ashore? Remember how they don't really do anything other than that? And some conditional buffing? Well now they do stuff other than that and some conditional buffing!

Brain Sponge

  • Deals 5 Block.

  • Heals 5 HP.

Ping Pong Sponge

  • Deals 5 Block.

  • Deals 5 Damage.

Yellow Tube Sponge

  • Heals 5 HP.

  • Deals 5 Damage.

New Cosmetics!

Isn't our Main Menu background beautiful? Wouldn't you want to take it with you everywhere?

Well now you CAN!

Lively Seas Background

In all it's glorious glory. You just know your win rate would skyrocket with these fishes helping you out. You know, I've always wondered what type of build Ashe is going with in this picture. Can you figure it out? Better yet, try the build yourself. Show us in our Discord if you do!

Crystal Chest

With the new units putting stuff in your inventory for you, we obviously had to release a new Chest.

Look at it. Now imagine it full of Krill, freshly Sea Cucumber-ed foodstuffs, and all the Oyster Treasure in the world. You know you want the iced out bling.

Also!

Equipment and Enchantment descriptions now appear as they would on a Unit, with specific tier-based abilities and such things shown.

Bug Fixes, or, The Hall of Shame

I suppose there's no shame anymore, the bugs have been fixed.

  • Unavailable bonus stats are now grayed out even in combat.

  • Bonus stats are no longer grayed out if the corresponding ability is triggered by Energy or Adjacency.

  • Fish Descriptions no longer flicker when toggling detailed descriptions.

  • The Ability Info window no longer flickers when toggling detailed descriptions.

  • Fish Descriptions no longer show up as "Null Fish"

  • Blue-Ringed Octopus now correctly displays the amount of poison it applies.

    • Blue-Ringed Octopus no longer does multiple single-poison attacks, but a single multiple-poison attack.

  • The Gold gain popup text now correctly shows accumulated Gold gain each Anchor beat rather than being overwritten by the last registered gold gainer.
