addedHi everyone! I'm so sorry we didn't post a Steam update last week. Things have been really hectic with trying to get our new internal demo ready. We need it to create all of our marketing content as it is much more representative of the final game. This goes a bit into why that is important!
changedWhen we launched our Steam page in January, we knew we were launching with some pretty early images and videos. We really appreciate all of you who are actually reading these, this is the early days and I HOPE that when we start really pushing things over the summer you’ll all see the massive improvements being made.
addedFor us, I’ve put out Always Bet on Quack as many places as I can because I want feedback to make the game better. One of the main notes we got after we launched the Steam page was that our UI looked unfinished and our level looked washed out. Jeremy then spent a month fixing the lighting and optimizing everything while Tyler has gone and completely redesigned the UI so it looks much more polished. We can’t wait to get your feedback on the new look of everything.
addedAnother big note we got was that our trailer doesn’t translate the feelings of the game very well. Always Bet on Quack is a chaotic multiplayer game that encourages you to gamble and party with your friends. That isn’t properly conveyed in the current trailer and we’re taking that into consideration as we build the new one. Note the difference between this one and the one coming out and see if you can see how much we changed the theme of it.

One of the main ideas I try to drive home to my students is that when someone gives feedback on your game, it isn’t to tear you down or criticize you, it is because that person sees something that they think that can make the game better. Feedback on a game idea is never criticism of you, and that feeling is what destroys many indie projects.

Those are the big notes, but please know we want to know these things because then we can work on them and make the game even better.
