addedPlaytest Polish & DebuggingA lot of work in the last 2 months has gone into making sure the playtest was as smooth and enjoyable as possible. We've improved visibility around cities, ensuring key information is clearer at a glance. We've also added tutorials for trade and influence, and linked those systems into the rest of the gameplay experience. Alongside that, we tackled various crashes, hangs, added missing icons, and introduced new narrative events with fresh illustrations to deepen the story of the Azca people that you guys got to play.
addedCity VisualsOur cities are looking better by the day! We’ve added new decorative elements, outlines, models, and decals to give them a richer, more immersive feel. While we are not quite there yet as to the final look, this is a nice step towards having a more detailed and dynamic urban landscape in your empire!
changedUI RedesignWe’ve started giving the UI a sorely needed thematic facelift! Although we are still in the visual design phase of this update, the interface will better match the game's atmosphere, making interactions feel more cohesive and engaging. Expect a more refined, immersive presentation as we continue to enhance the overall look and feel.
addedQuality of Life ImprovementsAuto-save, reloading, and returning to the main menu are now fully implemented. This means you can now step away from your empire without fear of losing progress.
changedQuality of Life ImprovementsThat’s it for this update! As always, thank you for your support and feedback—it helps us shape Almanach into the best version it can be. Stay tuned for more updates (or join the discord for more frequent ones), and let us know what you think in the comments!

We're back with another almost monthly update for Almanach! We skipped last month's update to focus more on the playtest that was available from Feb. 17-24 and give us more time to focus on making a better experience for you guys. So first of all, thanks to everyone who played the game and left us some feedback! We are still sorting through everything, and will consider all your comments in the continuing development. The last 2 months have been all about refinement and polishing the demo experience, and pushing the game's visuals and usability further. Let’s dive in!

Playtest Polish & Debugging

A lot of work in the last 2 months has gone into making sure the playtest was as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

City Visuals

Our cities are looking better by the day! We’ve added new decorative elements, outlines, models, and decals to give them a richer, more immersive feel. While we are not quite there yet as to the final look, this is a nice step towards having a more detailed and dynamic urban landscape in your empire!

UI Redesign

We’ve started giving the UI a sorely needed thematic facelift! Although we are still in the visual design phase of this update, the interface will better match the game's atmosphere, making interactions feel more cohesive and engaging. Expect a more refined, immersive presentation as we continue to enhance the overall look and feel.

Quality of Life Improvements

Auto-save, reloading, and returning to the main menu are now fully implemented. This means you can now step away from your empire without fear of losing progress.

That’s it for this update! As always, thank you for your support and feedback—it helps us shape Almanach into the best version it can be. Stay tuned for more updates (or join the discord for more frequent ones), and let us know what you think in the comments!

See you next time!
