All You Can FISH! — v0.5.12 Patch Notes
Hey everyone, Ori's here :)
Just wanted to quickly say again - TYSM to everyone who has shared the game, written a review, wishlisted, followed on X, or DMed us how the game made them feel. Moments like these are the real reason why we (and many other indie devs) choose to keep doing it day after day! You guys are awesome 🙏💖
We've been working quite non-stop since the last update. A lot has changed. So, to not make this 5 pages long, here's a quick list of what changed:
New & Changed
Brand new Run and Jump animations added to Luka! (in the dock scene)
Scene transition manager — loading screen added, with auto-saving on scene change
New skill: Bulk Transfer to Shop — send fish to the sell shop in bulk
Fish now disappear properly after being released from a trap or rod
Fish are now transferred to the shop by value — the most valuable goes first
Floating text feedback when gaining or losing currencies
Unknown (undiscovered) fish now show a lock icon instead of a blurred sprite
Fish particles on the skill map now only show fish you've unlocked
Improved shore and skill tree visual/interaction feedback
Improved skill descriptions across the board
Lowered the 2nd boat price to 50M Coins and 1M Seaweed
Replaced the stats saving method to handle balance changes on existing saves properly
Save logic optimized
Bug Fixes
Fixed: if the player was already holding a movement input when a pull "freeze" ended, they had to re-press to move. Now they just move immediately
Fixed: quests not resetting properly
Fixed: missing localization key for skill name
Fixed: engine SFX clipping / getting very loud toward the end
Fixed: footstep SFX still playing when colliding with invisible walls
Balance
Too much has changed across too many iterations to provide a fully detailed balance changelog this time — sorry about that. Here's the major stuff:
All mid-to-endgame fish pull time multipliers have been lowered significantly
Pull speed skills buffed significantly across all tiers
Fish values increased (base values, not skill multipliers)
Seaweed value skills now have more upgrade levels
Initial stats increased for a faster, less sluggish early game
