Aldro changes
*Aldro Resurrection Update Patch Notes* v2.0
Core Gameplay Systems:
-Introduced Normal Mode and Hard Mode:
-Normal Mode: Players retain inventory after death.
-Hard Mode: Features item loss on death, tougher enemies, and double loot rewards.
-Added Advanced Mouse Tracking Camera Movement (toggleable) — camera now subtly sways with mouse movement.
-Implemented a dynamic lighting system that darkens the environment during nighttime and in underground areas, enhancing atmosphere and immersion.
-Implemented a 24-Hour Day/Night Cycle, adding time-based gameplay variation.
-Introduced a new Slot Stash: A new early game placeable container with cross-save shared storage
-Pets can be found in jars throughout the world and collected by breaking them.
-Home raids have been overhauled with new enemy mobs and rebalanced for improved challenge and gameplay.
-Mobs now drop Mana/HP.
User Interface (UI) Overhaul:
-The on-screen hotbar (slots 1–7) now allows instant building, consuming, or equipping upon pressing the corresponding number key—removing the previous confirmation step for faster gameplay.
-Reworked Tutorial UI for improved user onboarding.
-Redesigned Crafting Menu UI for better navigation.
-Overhauled the Main Menu UI for a fresh layout.
-Updated Death Screen UI with improved visuals and clarity.
-Replaced all fonts with a new universal font for better readability.
-The Crafting, Inventory, and Market Menu now display nametags when hovering over items.
-Overhauled the item bar to improve layout and usability, preventing it from overlapping or extending beyond the screen during market and crafting menu use.
-Screenshake has been increased.
Mana System Overhauled:
-Mana no longer auto-regenerates while casting.
-Upgrading regeneration now offers more meaningful benefits.
-Mana Regeneration Rating has been replaced by Mana Regeneration percentage above base similar to all other stats.
Crafting System Updates:
-Added Workbench Requirements.
-Some crafting recipes now require one of 6 new workbench types.
-Guns & Ammo are now craftable at the Weaponsmith Workbench.
-Numerous crafting recipes have been adjusted for smoother progression, with corresponding market price updates to maintain balance.
Casino:
-The Casino — A new world structure that can be found or built. Inside are 3 playable games:
-Blackjack
-Ride the Bus
-Slot Machines
New Artifact Slot System:
-Introduced 16 New Artifacts — a new equipment type that grants unique gameplay-altering abilities rather than modifying stats. Examples include: flight, freezing enemies, passive DPS support, spawning hp/mana stars, and many other things.
-Players can equip up to 2 artifacts at once.
-Added a craftable Artifacts "Resurrection Totem" prevents Aldro's death once, granting him a second chance at life upon defeat.
New Weapon Additions:
-3 Guns: MP5, Spade Slinger, Tactical Shotgun
-7 Craftable Swords (1 per element tier)
-13 Magic Rods — a new mana-based weapon class with projectile attacks
-Introduced three powerful new Rainbow Rarity weapons which have been added to the auction house:
-Spade Slinger – Fires shots that deal a random damage value between 1 and 100.
-Rod of Null Energy – Summons a barrage of homing rainbow stars.
-Rod of Aureorum – Calls forth an army of golden skeletons to fight alongside you.
Items & Potions:
-Added Large Mana & HP Potions that restore 75 points.
-Vases now drop potions when broken.
-Added new Craftable light sources: Torches, Glowsticks, Braziers, and Standing Eridium Torches.
-Added a Clock Object that displays in-game time.
-Added 6 new crafting ingredients used in creating Rods, Structures, and select Artifacts.
Enemies & Bosses:
-New Core Boss: Nekrathul, summonable only at night using a special artifact.
-Introduced new tameable wolf mob — tame with bones.
-Added a new neutral lizard mob native to the tropical biome.
-Introduced Rats around the darker area of Aldro.
-Agro Mobs now spawn in all biomes.
-Introduced Phoenixes, rare creatures found during expeditions — they drop a valuable feather used in high-tier crafting recipes.
-Added 4 new Night-Time Mobs:
-Darkrog
-Nightcrawlers
-TNT Goblins
-Imps
-Bosses now despawn when the player is defeated.
-Significantly improved enemy AI with pathfinding capabilities — enemies can now intelligently navigate around obstacles to reach and engage their targets.
-AI that use basic hand-to-hand combat now keep a respectful distance when on cooldown from attacking again.
World Content & Environments:
-Added wind simulation to small foliage for visual realism.
-Tomb Biome overhaul.
-Mobs now spawn more consistently during generation.
-Map drop rates increased, unlocking new levels is now more accessible.
-Crate drops have been increased.
-Air drops have been decreased now that ammo is craftable.
-Magic projectiles now emit a glowing effect accompanied by dynamic particle trails.
New Zones:
-The Backrooms; a surreal, liminal space found randomly during expeditions. This eerie zone contains unpredictable, randomly generated loot and the elusive Almond Water, essential for survival.
-The Tomb: A mysterious underground chamber located within the Tomb biome, featuring a unique sacrificial trial that, once completed, rewards Aldro with the powerful Amulet of the Undead needed to summon Nekrathul.
Progression & Achievements:
-Added 2 new quests to expand progression.
-Added 5 new Steam Achievements.
Fixes & Stability:
-Windows mode no longer resizes when entering a new level.
-Placing a new home flag now resets raid time.
-Flying no longer fly's over indoor areas.
-Fixed fatal errors causing crashes or instability.
