Alchemy Survivors changes
We've got a world-sized update for you this time that's focused on transforming co-op with several miniature game modes to play, in addition to our "normal" survivors experience.
And we're shipping language support for the game, supporting 19 languages to start: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Russian, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean.
You can also hire merchants to fight by your side, add bots to play with in co-op (even as a solo player), and look back on your personal calendar of daily challenge attempts.
So lets get into what all is new!
New: Co-op Daily Challenge
Co-op has been enabled for the Daily Challenge!
Just like the solo daily challenge, there are now up to 4 "pinned" characters that you and your friends can attempt the daily challenge with that change each day.
Added separate leaderboards for 2-, 3-, and 4-player teams attempting the daily challenge.
Go try it out by clicking the new Co-op button on the Daily Challenge screen!
New Level: Genesis Rift
Fight alongside other survivors in a co-op optimized 4v4 MOBA level where you battle to destroy the enemy team's base and take control of the alchemical rift.
Playable solo alongside bots, but very fun to play with other humans! When played in co-op, up to 8 players may join the game. Bots will fill any empty slots.
You can wish for any item at the Wishing Well in the center of the map, but wishes are announced to both teams -- stand your ground to collect your wish when it's granted!
Just select Genesis Rift as a level when playing to try this new MOBA-like game mode!
Unlocked by playing any other level in co-op.
New Level: Fort Knocks
Defend a walled camp under siege by an endless onslaught of zombies and other horrors!
Spawn in a fortified building with several workstations and merchants immediately available.
Zombies and skeletons spawn in every direction and funnel through four gates, which each have a tower that helps you defend against the endless onslaught.
Upgrade your towers to unlock additional weapon slots and upgrade your tower's weapons just like you upgrade your own!
Unlocked by defeating 2,000 Zombies in any other levels.
New: Daily Challenge Calendar
Added a new Challenge Calendar feature that lets you look back on previous days' challenges and see your stats on each day
The calendar also tracks how many days you've placed first, second, or third on the leaderboards
Also added a system for holiday-themed challenges on specific days throughout the year... say hi to Santa! :)
New: Language Support
- The game now supports play in 19 languagesEnglish, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
You can set your language in the Settings screen and change it any time.
If you notice any bad translations, please let us know on Discord so we can promptly fix them!
New Feature: Hired Hands
You can now hire merchants to fight by your side who'll follow you around and fight with their own weapon!
Every merchant in the game now has a Hire button while you're trading with them (H on PC).
Pay 10 gold and they'll fight alongside you for the next 5 minutes.
You can have up to two merchants hired at a time.
Co-op Improvements
You can now add bots to your team when setting up a co-op run, who will accompany you with their own weapons and attempt to revive you when you're downed.
You can now enter co-op matches with just a single human player (plays very similarly to single player, but the game is not paused when opening menus).
The amount of XP required to level up in co-op is now increased by +25% for each additional person in a party (because XP is shared across all party members collecting XP).
Off-screen indicators for your teammates are now twice as large, and flash when your teammate is downed.
You can now select "Random" for your character or location, and it'll assign you a random character/location at game start.
You can now see which teammates are waiting to pick their upgrade during the shared level up pause.
When using an object that would transport you to another level (like the Mausoleum entrance), teams in co-op will now vote on whether to enter the new map together, instead of individual players entering a different map on their own.
Restyled the popups that show for discovering new items and enemies.
New Character: H. Wheels
Blaze through hordes of enemies in a wheelchair with side-swiping blades and an ability that leaves a trail of flames behind you.
Close any loop of flames by circling back around to ignite all enemies within the circle!
Includes custom movement that plays closer to a top-down racing game (W/S to go forward/back, A/D to steer); slow down for tighter turns.
Unlocked by traversing 5km in-game across all characters.
Level Changes
The player now starts in a large chapel structure when starting a run in the Cemetery. The chapel always includes a Shrine of Light and a Wishing Well.
Shrines, workstations, lootables, and other interactables now have a slight shimmer in the world if you've never interacted with that kind of object before.
Lootables (hidden stashes, fresh graves, sunken chests, etc) now spawn half as often in all levels.
Character Changes
Increased Jekyl's base move speed from 0.75 to 1.
Increased Noo's base move speed from 0.85 to 1.
Increased Corvus's base move speed from 1 to 1.3.
Increased Cinder's base move speed from 1 to 1.5.
Increased Ras's base move speed from 1.05 to 1.5. His Downbeat ability now grants +20% additional movespeed during its knockback beats.
Increased Scruff's base move speed from 1.25 to 2.
Grimer's ball no longer does damage or absorbs low-health enemies when he's downed in co-op.
Enemy Changes
Naga Spitters now fire 1 projectile at a time (instead of 3) and that projectile moves 40% slower.
Treasure Goblins now drop twice as much gold (5→10) and have 3x as much health (123→369).
Zombies and Skeletons have had their movement speed reduced by half.
Pawns now telegraph their diagonal captures and move more aligned to the chessboard ground in Chessland.
Tabby Stripers (typically found in the Catacombs) now periodically speed up all nearby enemies near them by 25%.
Settings Changes
Completely redesigned the whole settings screen to make controller navigation easier, and to group settings more logically.
Added a new X-Ray Mode that lets you see the exact hitboxes for all weapons, enemies, projectiles, and destructables in the game as you play.
Added a "Game Speed Multiplier" that lets you scale game speed from 0.5x to 1.5x under Accessibility.
You can now select a preferred audio output device under Sound.
You can now select a preferred monitor under Display.
Added a new Pause When Unfocused checkbox that'll auto-pause your game when you alt-tab out, under Gameplay.
Steam post image The new X-Ray mode shows exact hitboxes while playing, so you can play with perfect precision.
Bugfixes
Fixed a bug where crafted weapons sometimes had larger hitboxes than intended.
Fixed a bug where co-op lobbies weren't always visible to join after previously playing a co-op run.
Fixed a bug in co-op that could result in players not seeing each other's projectiles.
Fixed a bug where joining a co-op game could load you into the previous co-op run's map.
Fixed a bug where off-screen indicators for your teammates would sometimes disappear on long runs.
Fixed a bug that rendered several merchants unintentionally tiny.
Fixed a major performance issue in co-op that could cause sustained lag later on in runs.
Fixed a bug that will significantly improve performance for weapons that reach >100% cooldown reduction.
The camera zoom will now return to normal if a boss despawns off-camera (if you run far enough away for it to despawn).
Save system overhaul: saves are now written crash-safely, backed up automatically, and versioned — a corrupted or outdated save can no longer wipe your progress, and future updates will migrate old saves automatically.
