Long time no see, alchemists! ⚗️
If you've been keeping up with the team's whereabouts on social media, specially if you're part of AlcheMice's Discord community, you’ve probably noticed a whirlwind of updates! The Steam page has now a new and improved look, we’re sharing our indie developer journey across even more platforms, and we launched a new animated trailer with improved game feel and never-before-seen gameplay! So much has happened since our last November update, and with 2026 on the horizon, there’s even more excitement ahead.

With the new trailer, a demo was announced to originally launch on March 5th. However, as we've got closer, something big (and very exciting) has been announced: Slay the Spire II is also launching on March 5th. As huge fans of the game, we’re incredibly excited about it but we also recognize that launching our demo the same day wouldn’t make sense, as it would do a disservice to our own game and the community.
While we understand it might be disappointing to delay the launch, we’ve decided to treat this as an opportunity. Instead of rushing forward, we’ll use the extra time to further refine and improve AlcheMice. That said, we know many of you were eager to get your hands on the demo, so rather than going quiet until April, we’re opening up something new:
🔹 A Private Playtest starting on March 12th
We’ll be running a smaller, controlled playtest through Steam. To participate, simply visit our game’s Steam page and scroll down until you see the “Join AlcheMice Playtest” section. Starting March 12th, access will be rolled out in waves. We’ll grant entry to the first 100 players initially, followed by another 100 a few days later. This staggered approach will allow us to closely monitor everything!
Because this is a limited playtest, our focus is on gathering thoughtful, detailed feedback from every participant. To make that possible, we’ll be coordinating everything through our Discord server. You can join Red Mountain’s Discord via the link provided. If you’re already part of the community, simply request the Apprentice role to gain access to three exclusive channels:
#private-playtest: a dedicated space to discuss the game with fellow players and the developers.
#playtest-bugs: a focused channel for reporting any bugs or technical issues you encounter.
#playtest-feedback: a structured forum where we’ll gather in-depth feedback and impressions.
To celebrate your support, our team is brewing up a special reward. We’re crafting a pair of alchemic procedures that will be gifted to everyone who joins in. These secret recipes will be unveiled on March 12th, once the first 100 keys are sent. If you aren’t selected to test the game this time, don’t worry, the recipes will also be shared when the demo launches. We also have a few more surprises planned, so stay tuned!
If you’d like to help shape the demo before its public release, we’d love to have you in! Remember, you'll only need to visit AlcheMice's Steam page and click on the"Request Access"button, just like it's shown in the bottom picture.
🔹 New Demo launch date
The full public demo is now planned for sometime in April. We’ll share an exact date once we’re confident the build is where it needs to be for you all to enjoy.
Once again, we’re sorry for the delay. We know some of you were ready to jump in this Thursday, we truly appreciate your excitement and patience. Our goal
