Welcome back, dear Alchemist!

As mentioned in our previous post, November was set to bring some exciting news about the future of AlcheMice. Last Saturday, we were honored to kicking off the Then't Gamen't Awardn't with a special announcement—our tactical deckbuilder set in 16th-century Granada will arrive on Kickstarter in 2026, and its pre-launch page is now live!

This was the last surprise in our second gameplay trailer. There, we proudly showcased the progress made in the last two months, including the revamped UI and new special cards, and revealed some unseen key features. Specifically, we revealed more details about the alchemy-based card enhancement system and deck customization options.

How It Started

Red Mountain Games is an independent development studio with no publishing support for AlcheMice, which is our third game project after The Crown Of Wu (2023), created under the PlayStation Talents® incubation program, and Hermetica, a game we started developing in really though circumstances.

After a few troubled months, we had no choice but to leave Hermetica behind and start from scratch on our own. AlcheMice was born in our minds as a spiritual successor, but with new elements that made it a standalone experience with a soul of its own.

AlcheMice brings a unique way to delve into the mysteries of 16th-century Granada. As the brave Tycoh, you'll master alchemy and tarot to get rid of those who allied with dark forces to subjugate the city. Moreover, you'll explore every corner of the city through hand-crafted 3D dungeons where the scenery elements are also part of the combat.

Why Kickstarter?

Starting on Q2 2025, we've worked hard to create something worth showing in the most important gaming conventions around the world. Attending at G-Star, Gamescom, and BCN Game Fest, as well as other minor events, helped us gather a valuable feedback to tailor the game to the expectations of our target players.

Right now, we feel that AlcheMice is entering a late stage of development. Now that we can offer a glimpse of the full game, we feel it's only natural to start moving forward to secure the funding that will allow us to polish it and prepare for launch. That's why we've decided that AlcheMice will be on Kickstarter sometime in 2026, perhaps a few months before its release on Steam.

Funds raised on Kickstarter will help us cover four main areas:

  • art, to increase the quality of the cards artwork and explore potential collaborations with well-known and beloved IPs in games scene.

  • marketing and PR, so that our message reaches as many people as possible in the most effective way at the time of launch.

  • Q&A, because game testing is key to creating a well-polished product.

  • porting for console versions.

More details on the campaign will arrive at a later date. In the meantime, please follow our Kickstarter pre-launch page, add AlcheMice to your Steam wishlist, and share both pages with your friends. We need your support more than ever, Alchemist!

We wish you a great day, Red Mountain Games
