When Things Get Serious – Contraband at Caldora Airport - Devlog #10

Last Thursday we published a devlog introducing you to Restricted Items—those things passengers really shouldn’t bring on a plane, but somehow always try anyway. If you missed it, don’t worry. You can still catch up through this link. Today, however, we’re moving into a much heavier category: Contraband. Steam post image This is where the jokes end and the serious business begins. When someone tries to commit an outright crime during your shift at Caldora Airport, it’s no longer just about politely confiscating an item and sending them on their way. This time, action is required. Steam post image We’re talking about passengers attempting to smuggle illegal weapons without permits, explosives, or narcotics. In most places, getting caught with such items means one thing: a direct trip to jail.

And yes, that rule applies on Caldora Island too… although, as you might imagine, things aren’t always that simple. Sometimes local influences—let’s just say certain cartels—can complicate matters. As you progress through the game, you’ll gain experience and climb through higher Tiers. Each new Tier unlocks more items across all categories: Legal, Restricted, and Contraband. And with those new unlocks come more creative (and desperate) smugglers.

Steam post image Your “tourists” will attempt to sneak through items like C4, AK-47s, or suspiciously large packages of marijuana. And trust us—they will try everything. Hidden compartments. Clever disguises. Probably a few terrible excuses.

But the real question isn’t just whether you’ll catch them. The question is what you’ll do next. Will you follow the law to the letter and arrest every smuggler you find? Or will the offers from the local cartel start sounding a little… tempting? The choice—and the consequences—are yours.
