📢 Announcement from the Terminal! 📢
This is Günther Gewinn speaking. After just over a year of sweat and tears, it is today my honor and my duty as Managing Director to solemnly announce the release of Version 1.0 of the Airport Baggage Simulator! To celebrate this appropriately, I’ve brought you a direct glimpse from Bauberbach, my newest airport. Of course, I’m keeping an eye out here for someone who’s ready to take responsibility and fully automate the operation.
🛬 Completion of Terminal 1 🛬
Anyone who played the demo can seamlessly continue from their existing save and keep playing. As the next step, an automatic sorter for overweight baggage can be purchased.
After that, there are further hall expansions to buy, giving you space for an additional departure gate to JFK Airport in New York and, of course, to buy yourself all the equipment to search the suitcase for weapons with the X-Ray and then ultimately automate this step as well.
💼 The End of the Probationary Period 💼
Once everything in the first terminal is taken care of, you have permanently secured your position with me, Günther Gewinnn, and earned yourself a few special privileges. First and foremost, the time has finally come for you to visit me personally in my office, where we can talk about business matters in person.
In addition, permanent employees at my airports are provided with a home of their own! Because a home where you feel comfortable is crucial for productivity and your further career path here at the airport.
The home, of course, doesn't come without new responsibilities! Once you have proven yourself with your performance during the probationary period, you will take on responsibility in new terminals in Millhome, Farmbrook and Hamville.
As a special twist to keep you on your toes, I have come up with a system of benefits and burdens that you can apply in every new job. For example, you can take a benefit that causes conveyor belts to move 100% faster, or another that immediately gives you full conveyor belt upgrades on purchase. Here is an example:
These benefits then have to be balanced out with burdens, so that the situation in the new job is balanced and there is no unfair competitive advantage. While you work on your new jobs, you will unlock more and more of these benefits and burdens.
🎒 Backpack Overhaul 🎒
The backpack has been overhauled from the ground up. Baggage automatically rotates toward you when placed down, and there are also dedicated buttons for picking up and putting down. We have furthermore added that already placed parts can be loaded directly into the backpack with just a single button press, to allow for quick rebuilding. Here is a look at it:
📦 Two New Baggage Types: Hard and Shiny 📦
You can unlock new baggage types on your tablet:
Hard — sturdy hardshell suitcases for the more demanding customers.
Shiny — the absolute premium suitcase with correspondingly high profit.
🛤️ New Conveyor Belt: Straight with Cage 🛤️
A new straight conveyor belt with a cage construction. With this new conveyor belt type, you can solve the problem, you can make your setup significantly more robust and ensure that fewer suitcases fall off the belt when there is a jam in front of a machine.
📺 Twitch Drops 📺
From now on, streamers in the Airport Baggage Simulator can set up three unlockable collectibles for their viewers: a mug, a poster, and a trophy. All three look nice and bring you a small amount of money over time. You will find these trophies in your private room after you have unlocked them.
💬 Twitch Integration 💬
We have improved our existing integration with the Twitch chat. Chatters can now display messages above the suitcase in addition to their name. We have also added a command overview that shows the streamer's profile picture and all commands. This overview is, of course, only on when streamer mode is on as well.
✨ Balancing ✨
Reduced the price of straight conveyor belts and turntables from $100 to $70, so you can get to automation faster in the early game.
Costs for the mid-tier early conveyor upgrades have been reduced by roughly 75%.
Late upgrade stages for automats are also 30-40% cheaper now.
The UP cost to automate baggage gates has been reduced from 40 to 25.
The decoration point bonus from the plant upgrade (love!) has been changed, early levels now give more points (5, 10, 14, 18, 22, 25, 28).
The "Janitor" skill now grants half per level: XP from 50 to 25, money from $10 to $5.
The "Trader" skill now refunds only half: 3% per level instead of 6%.
✨ Quality of Life ✨
At the weighing table, the display turns green when the customer has paid for it, and red when not.
Airline stickers will now always be on top or the front of baggage so that less rotating and searching for the sticker is required.
You can now adjust your FOV (Field of View) in the settings.
The loading screen now shows a hint that the game saves automatically.
When you continue a save slot, you automatically load back into the level you last visited.
On the tablet screen "Valid", airports are now displayed in the order of their physical gates.
Storage and both bridge conveyor belts can now be colored.
At the right moment, you receive an email that explains to you that baggage can only ever be invalid in one way and you don't have to check multiple times.
On the automatic scanner you can now stand and jump just like on a regular machine and no longer get stuck on it.
The start screen has been completely redesigned.
If you don't have enough UP for an upgrade, a new hint to the left of it tells you how to acquire UP.
The downward look angle has been increased from 60° to 80° — you can now edit things you are standing on or items right next to you.
🐞 Bug Fixes 🐞
We imported reviewed localizations for Japanese, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Polish, Turkish and French, and proof-read the English translation. On top of that, there are numerous small changes and fixes to the controller controls. Here are the most exciting bigger fixes:
Packages are no longer duplicated when you exit the game with a package in your hand and a free backpack slot.
Packages can now also be passed through bridges or other machines.
When editing a machine, the dispensed suitcase now appears where the player expects it — directly at the machine.
Building items can no longer be picked up while build mode is active.
Suitcases on storage conveyor belts now visually move at the same speed as on the other conveyor belts.
Fixed a case where a building could be placed inside another building.
Text in the building preview no longer renders broken in languages with non-Latin letters.
The automatic scanner no longer labels baggage while in build mode.
Money plants now correctly include the upgrade bonus in their popup.
The baggage exit from the delivery room into the hall no longer stops working when the backpack picks up baggage that has not yet fully left the exit.
Fixed several cases where baggage could get lost behind walls or in the floor.
✈️ New Destination Airport: Roche Harbor (RCE) ✈️
