Hi, thanks for the lil support this game has garnered, especially since I didn't really market it at all, it means a lot!!!!

EDIT 2025-11-17 12:52 EAST TIME : FIxed a game breaking bug I created at 2am last night.. I went full on Mr Robot to patch it fast SORRY!!!

First the update:

  • fixed a hole you could fall into that'd softlock your ass in the prologue

  • updated a small section in the sewers where you run away from Greg's gang and the UNE

  • updated the Motherland Coastal town level

  • headshots deal more damages

  • Roach's Shotgun Goons in Motherland's Border run faster and got a slight design change

  • Some sounds / little things were added here and there

  • Gibs now disappear after a couple seconds, to save some performances

Now what's in the plan for this mess? Right now I need to find some time to sit down and fix some game breaking bugs like:

  • Opening the menu while interacting with a Computer breaks the game

  • Dying while a computer log's running keeps the window running forever, even in the menu

  • Sometimes there are some insane ass drop of FPS in the last few levels (Mech sections and the last Mirny level)

  • Some people get black screens during the resident evil style camera sections, but I'll admit I have 0 clue what is causing it.. That'll be the hardest one to tackle for real

Alright and now for the less yawn inducing stuff:

  • Some missing sounds/sfx because I was lazy, but I'll gradually implement them as I record/mix them

  • More enemy behavior, like hurt reactions, throwing explosives and some funny shit I could think of

  • Fill up the emptier parts of the levels (except the ones meant to be liminal and atmospheric) with cool shit

  • Maybe some extra visual novel style logs?

Ok and now what the heck do I wanna do now?:

  • As you may be aware, this game is pretty much the House (1985 film) of video games, the game's story is a rabbit hole with many missing pieces and characters lying, false events, repeat events. All of this is meant to be explored more in Chapter 2/3/4, which will all be way shorter than Chapter 1: Decay. Do not expect to get spoon fed everything though, I love David Lynch and Apocalypse Now so you'll probably get more confused because I'm a dumbass.

  • Chapter 2 is currently being rewritten. My idea so far is to design Chapter 2 in a way where some decisions leads you to either Chapter 3 or Chapter 4. The story will get more serious since working on chapter 1 really taught me a lot about writing stuff in general. You could say that Chapter 2 (3&4 too) is the actual story I wanted to tell originally with this game, but since I wasn't confident and competent enough, I decided to experiment a fuck ton during Chapter 1, but anyone who's played past the prologue probably noticed at this point haha.

Alright, don't got much more in mind, if you want to make some posters or fanarts, please do!!!! I'll plaster them around the game, on empty walls and stuff.

Thank you for playing, let's turn this awful game into an awful game with a good story !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
