The release of A Tale of Silent Depths is drawing closer and closer. So, captains… are you ready?
These past weeks have been a rush of final polish, small improvements, and a few last pieces of content finding their way into the Depths. It has been intense, but also incredibly rewarding. After spending so much time shaping this world, its waters, its mysteries, and the strange stories hidden beneath the surface, I cannot wait for you to finally step aboard and make your own tales within it.
As a developer, there are few joys greater than seeing people connect with something you have poured so much of yourself into. I hope that, once the game is out, you will explore, experiment, get lost, survive, fail, discover, and come back with stories that are entirely your own.
And speaking of stories…
For our players in Brazil, especially those near Brasília, we will be attending Brasília Game Festival on May 15, 16, and 17! We will be bringing A Tale of Silent Depths to showcase at the event, and we will also have several goodies connected to the game and its lore available there.
But there is one very special thing we will be bringing as well.
I have written a book set in the world of A Tale of Silent Depths.
The book is called Profundezas Silenciosas: A Garota que Via Além, roughly translated into English as Silent Depths: The Girl Who Saw Beyond. It will be available during a book signing event at Brasília Game Festival, and it will also be available through online bookstores. A huge thank you to Editora Pyxis for helping make this possible.
For now, the book will be available only in Portuguese, but we are already planning an English version for the future.
The story follows Wilhelminne Brooks, one of the main characters of the game. It explores her past, the events that shaped her, and the path that eventually leads her to become such an important figure in A Tale of Silent Depths. It also dives deeper into the reality of the Eve’s Dread Ark, as well as pieces of lore surrounding its faith, its people, and their devotion to their god, the Great Barkley.
This is only the beginning of those stories. I also plan to write about the pasts of the two other main characters, Jaime Wett and Malick Samba, so I will keep you updated as those projects take shape.
Making A Tale of Silent Depths has been a long journey, full of strange waters, late nights, discoveries, doubts, and moments of joy. Soon, I hope it becomes a journey for you too.
Thank you so much for being here.
See you soon, captains. The Depths are waiting.
