Hello runaways,

A Study in Blue changes
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been carefully reading your feedback, watching your playthroughs, and analyzing the choices players made throughout the A Study in Blue demo.
This new 0.0.6 update mainly focuses on improving investigation clarity, narrative readability, player comfort, and adding more immersive interactions across Republica.
Thank you again for all your support. Every report, theory, and comment helps us shape the future of A Study in Blue!
🕵️♂️ Improved Investigation Experience
During the demo’s final investigation, we noticed that many players struggled to fully interpret certain clues and character testimonies.
After reviewing feedback and playthroughs, we realized some important information could be communicated more clearly to help players better understand the reasoning behind their choices and accusations.
To improve the investigation flow, we added:
New Angora dialogue to provide additional context during key moments
A clearer “Nick’s Testimony” clue
Additional details for “The Three Clerks” clue after successfully interrogating the Persian
Our goal with A Study in Blue is not to create an overly punishing detective game, but rather a strong narrative investigation experience where players can focus on the story, characters, and consequences of their choices.
💬 New Dialogues & Interactions
We also added many new dialogues throughout the demo!
Some are atmospheric interactions triggered while exploring environments, while others expand conversations about clues, investigations, and characters across Republica.
These additions help make the city feel more alive while giving players more opportunities to connect with Kenneth, Blue, and the people around them.
✨ QoL Improvements & Saves
We introduced several improvements to make the overall experience smoother and easier to follow:
Clearer autosave feedback so players always know when progress is saved
Improved readability for clues and investigation details
Better highlighting of important information inside evidence descriptions
Since the demo can be fairly long, we wanted players to feel more comfortable taking breaks and reflecting on their choices without worrying about losing progress.
🚧 Looking Ahead
Alongside these demo improvements, we’ve also been hard at work on the integration of A Study in Blue’s 1.0 version!
Things are moving forward nicely behind the scenes, and we’re really looking forward to sharing more about what’s coming as soon as possible 👀
Until then, the demo remains available on Steam!
Dive into Republica, investigate, make difficult choices… and don’t forget to wishlist A Study in Blue if you’d like to support the project and stay updated:
Thank you again for all your support, this is only the beginning. 💙
