A Game About Opening A Chest changes
Following up on our recent update, I've been working hard on your feedback to push the game's mechanics and game-feel even further. Today, I’m thrilled to launch another Major Update that completely changes how you build your strategy, improves visual feedback, and introduces a much-requested feature for newcomers!
Here is a detailed breakdown of what’s new:
Game-Changing Mechanics: Stackable Multipliers!
The way weapon combinations work has been completely redesigned. In previous versions, you could only have one active version of a synergy (for example, having 3x Swords OR 3x Dragons). If you had three "Dragon-type Swords," they wouldn't stack—only one effect would trigger.
Not anymore! Multipliers are now fully stackable. If you manage to collect three Dragon-type Swords, you will get a double multiplier. This opens the door to much wilder combinations, crazier numbers, and absolute chaos on your screen!
Synergy Gems & UI Overhaul
To support these new combinations, we’ve added a brand-new Synergy Gem System.
Visual Clarity: Every weapon now displays distinct colored gems representing its active synergies. You can see them directly on the Altars and inside your Inventory, allowing you to identify any weapon’s type at a single glance.
- Connectivity & "Juiciness"We have overhauled the visual feedback for synergies across the entire UI, including the Altars and the Book. The overall game-feel, connectivity, and "synesthesia" of how synergies trigger have been massively improved.
Rebalancing for Higher Caps
Because multipliers can now reach a staggering x38 (up from the previous x19 limit), we have carefully adjusted all weapon numbers, player stats, and scaling. This ensures the game remains challenging yet incredibly satisfying, giving you a much richer variety of viable builds and gameplay possibilities.
Brand New Interactive Tutorial
We noticed some players struggled to grasp the core mechanics at first glance. To fix this, we've created a dedicated Interactive Tutorial Menu. It will guide you through a quick, hands-on tour of the game's core mechanics, advanced synergies, and essential gameplay shortcuts so you can jump into the action fully prepared.
Minor Changes & Fixes
- NPC Guide MarkersAdded floating markers over NPCs. Hovering over or interacting with them will instantly display a quick breakdown of their function.
- NPC Visual FeedbackImproved animations and visual cues for all town and run NPCs.
- Rarity Stat Scaling FixWe fixed a frustrating issue where Rare (Blue) or Epic items would sometimes roll with almost no stats. Now, stat scaling is strictly tied to rarity—higher rarity means a guaranteed, generous stat boost!
Bug Squashing: Polished minor internal code bugs and translation errors for a smoother experience.
