5th Dimension changes
5th Dimension is a cyberpunk RPG MMO that empowers players to compete in a story-driven battle for control of a virtual world like no other.
In this world, players build and operate high-tech robotic humanoids called Mechs that are used to compete in epic gladiatorial blood sports driven by the relentless competition between two opposing factions: the psychically attuned Nirvay, and the technocratic Sah Vii.
The 5th Dimension game world is being built in public, whereby members of our team create and develop the conceptual artwork and 3D assets for the game on live streams, with decision making on which art makes it into the game determined (in part) by community voting.
Each week, members of our team share their work designing the robotic humanoid characters (Mechs) that players control in game.
In the 5th Dimension game world, Mechs are sentient AI beings that can be controlled by players using brain-computer interface tech that allows them to be operated remotely, or piloted via an onboard navigation and control system. Ownership, maintenance and operation of these robotic battle machines is an important part of the core game loop, and Mechs can be directly controlled by players or play alongside them, co-op style.
The early-stage, conceptual design work performed by our team to create 5th Dimension's Mechs is streamed to Twitch and Steam each week, allowing players and community members to experience the creation of game art in real time. We call these streams "Scion Sessions," and we invite you to join us as we craft and create a virtual world like no other.
