The Mechanics Are Ready

We have spent a significant amount of time ensuring that the core gameplay feels smooth and responsive. We are happy to report that the fundamental systems of the game are now fully functional. This includes:

The Dialogue System: Fully integrated and ready to handle complex narrative paths.

The Inventory & Interaction Systems: Items can now be collected, examined, and combined seamlessly with the environment.

The Cursor System: The classic point and click navigation has been tuned to feel modern yet familiar.

Next Step: Breathing Life Through Audio

With the technical foundation solid, our focus for the upcoming weeks shifts entirely to sound design. A psychological mystery requires heavy atmosphere, and audio plays a massive role in that. We are currently working on environmental audio, footsteps, object interactions, and a cinematic musical score to elevate the tension.

Who We Are: The Team Behind the Mystery

Since this is our second devlog, we wanted to share a brief look at who is building this game. We are a couple (39 and 32 years old) who made a major life shift last year. We decided to close our previous business to dedicate ourselves full-time and exclusively to game development.

The story of 26 Moves: The Queen's Plot has been in development for a long time. It was actually written entirely as a full book first, before being carefully converted into a game script, ensuring there are no narrative gaps or plot holes. A few months ago, a dedicated graphic designer also joined our team to help us deliver the game's final visual identity.

Keep an eye on our upcoming logs, as we are preparing something substantial to show you very soon.

Thank you for your support and for being part of this journey.
