The wait is over. After a year of intense development and feedback-looping with our incredible Discord community the brand new demo for 10 Second Mixtape is officially live on Steam!
We’ve overhauled the core experience to make sure every second you spend creating feels intuitive, rhythmic, and—most importantly—fun. While we’ve changed too much to list every tiny tweak, here are the headline acts of this update:
🎹 Song Creation: The "Total Overhaul"
The tape deck has officially moved out of the garage and into the pro garage... We’ve given the entire interface a massive face-lift that we think you're going to love.
Quality of Life: Placing notes, looping sections everything about making your 10 second beat is smoother than ever.
- The FX RackIntroducing brand-new FX Pedals . You can now manipulate BPM, Scale, and Swing on the fly to give your 10 second tracks a totally different vibe!
Endless Possibilities: Whether it’s a lo-fi chill beat or a high-energy anthem, the tools are now in your hands.
👯 Choose Your Groove: Partners & Instruments
In the original version, your instrument and partner were somewhat set in stone. Not anymore! We’ve introduced a new selection flow that puts you more in control.
Pick Your Instrument: You now get to choose between two instruments at the start. If you don't like'em its easy to start again and refresh them!
Pick Your Partner: You can now choose from 3 beats made by others on the internet!
The Vibe Check: Not sure who to pick? Simply hover over a partner to preview their beat before you commit.
🎸 Fresh Sounds (Including a Bird?)
We’ve expanded the sound library significantly. Some of these are already becoming legends in our community:
Acid Bass: For those gritty, synth-heavy leads.
The Bird: Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s glorious.
Bird shaped like orb = BORB?
Indian Kit: Adding some fresh percussion flavor to your tapes.
Note: If you see some "Ghost" characters, it just means the official art is still in the oven, but the sounds are ready to play!
🚀 What’s on the Horizon?
Our goal for this demo was to nail the "core" feel of making music. Though we will polish it more now that the foundation is solid, we’re looking toward the future of your musical identity:
Personal Studio Space: A dedicated area to store your favorite tracks and personal masterpieces.
- Progression SystemWe’re working on a system to help ease new players into the world of music composition without the headache.
The Evolution Continues: Expect more updates to hit the demo as we march toward the full release!
