The second major content update 'Story Mode' is out now for ZOMBETES!
New Gameplay Mode: Story - Three new curated levels that continue the narrative.
Asynchronous Multiplayer Features - Find and loot the bodies of players that have died in ZOMBETES - Use 'POSTPADS' to write messages for other players to find in the world
Performance Optimizations - Drastically reduced CPU usage - Status window updates much quicker - Text posts faster
Perpetual Mode Updates - Add 'Third Eye' upgrade; JOURNAL reveals items in unlit rooms - Add 'Prestige' upgrade; resets upgrades, increases Prestige level
UX Improvements - Better recognition of written items & rooms. - Autoscroll more consistently
Balance Updates - Chance of missing attacks globally reduced - 'Thrown' items always break (50% chance to distract NPC increased from 25%) - NPCs can always be dodged; warn the player of risk when attempting to do so
General Updates - JOURNAL now displays items in visited rooms - Added 'carjack' mini game when using any ignition item that is not a CAR KEY in a vehicle - Added skill points when reading BOOKS that improve chance of successful travel or rest - Limit 'status' checks to 10 when no CGM is equipped
New item : KEVLAR - Saves player from receiving damage in any context where they are attacked
Bug fixes - 'Shoot' command checks if user wrote a specific weapon to shoot with instead of autoselecting - 'Kill' command no longer displays a weapon as a viable choice if it has no ammo
ZOMBETES is currently in Early Access and scheduled for full release at the end of summer 2025.
