Zeverland changes
Wow, the number of sign-ups for our Discord server recently has completely exceeded our expectations, and our Steam Wishlist hit 100K in such a short time! Honestly, that’s a bit overwhelming for us. We were just planning on casually making this, but now it looks like we’ll have to give it everything we’ve got. A huge thanks to all of you for your support and attention!
We’ve added 10 extra test slots for a lucky draw on X and YouTube. Check out the rules on the respective platforms and join the fun!
I’ve been keeping an eye on the chat, and I’ve seen a ton of great questions, suggestions, and wild ideas coming through. A lot of you have asked, "Will we have this feature?" or "Can we open that system?" Well, timing isn’t exactly on our side here. We’re still in the testing phase, and what you’ve seen so far is more of a glimpse into what we’re trying to build.
You joined our server after seeing the trailer because you had a vision in your mind: “What would it be like to survive the zombie apocalypse? How would I live in a world like that?” We get it. That’s exactly what we’re aiming for here: a game world where you can see yourself surviving, interacting with others, and doing what you want in an apocalypse, even if the world around you is totally messed up.
That's the goal we're chasing.
What you're playing now is still a work-in-progress —but we're giving it to you because we want you to see what we’ve built so far and, more importantly, we want you to help shape what’s coming next.
We’ve got seven super-smart programmers, five tons of energy drinks, and three electric fans running full speed ahead to make this happen. Right now, the test version is very rough, but it’s here to show you what we've been working on, and give you an early look at where we’re headed.
You might have seen our trailer last year, or maybe it just popped up on YouTube again recently. Either way, we’re still here, we’re still alive, and we’re doing our best to make this work. This test isn’t a finished product, but it’s our chance to introduce you to the future of Zeverland —warts and all. It’s kind of like a “meet the ugly duckling” moment. You can feel the heat of the fresh baked goods, even if they don’t taste quite as good yet.
The content in this version is bare bones. We’re just getting the basic framework in place to see if it’s fun. One part of the goal is for you to see what’s possible, and the other part is for us to confirm that we’re on the right path.
We haven’t done a great job communicating in the past, but I’ll be hanging out more often. Feel free to join the server, follow us on YouTube, X, IG and Facebook, and later on we’ll also open up our private dev channel. We’ll be chatting most often on social media with you guys.
Our dev team is pretty straightforward and doesn’t hide much, so I’ll just say this: If you’re expecting to play a finished, polished version of the game that matches our trailers exactly with smooth performance, we’re not there yet. (Honestly, we’re still learning.) But trust us, the next round of tests is going to be a lot better!
This isn’t us poking fun at you guys. Honestly, we don’t want to waste your time either. You’re here because you’re part of the process —and we’re counting on your feedback to help us improve.
This test version is going to be a bit painful. There are going to be bugs, crashes, and maybe even frustrating moments. Thank you in advance for bearing with us!
Our team will be available online throughout the test, so if you run into any problems, just message us directly in the group, and we’ll be there to help.
Now, let’s go over some FAQs that we’ve seen pop up lately:
Who’s making this game? And who can I talk to?
The studio is called Quantum Quirks. You’ll find Travis, Jesus, and Phoebe hanging out in the Discord. You can ask us anything, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Who’s this test for?
If you have the right specs and you’re a survival game fan (or just love testing early builds), then this test is for you! We need players who can tolerate the rough edges, offer feedback, and brainstorm new ideas.
We’re still in the early stages of development, and this playtest will be pretty short. So we’ll be prioritizing players with suitable hardware and some experience in similar games—just to make sure everyone can have as much fun as possible in the limited time. Any bugs or suggestions you encounter, please don’t hesitate to share—we’ll be reading and considering every single one carefully.
Let’s be honest here: You guys are helping us out by"working for free"as testers, giving us suggestions and ideas. We’re super thankful for everyone who signed up, and all the players who are going to join the test. We’ll remember you guys!
(Travis: Don’t yell at me if you find a bug! I’ll do my best to fix it.)
NDA - What can’t I do once I sign it?
If you get into this test, please don’t post any screenshots or videos from this version online—especially in public places like the general chat or anywhere else. We’ll be opening up a special testing channel for that. You can share your feedback and media there.
If you have a Steam family library, please mark it as private so your friends can’t accidentally play this early version.
This version is really early, and not perfect by any means. But that’s why we’re looking for experienced testers who know what early access is like, and who can help us make the game better. We also want to protect our ideas, so please be respectful and don’t share content with anyone outside the test group.
Finally, I just want to say thank you, really. We didn’t expect to hit 100K on Steam wishlist in such a short time. That’s insane! Your support means the world to us, and we can’t believe that we’re still here, still pushing, and still fighting to make this game happen. You’re helping us make our dream a reality.
If you didn’t get into this test, don’t worry—there will be more tests soon. Stay tuned for updates on the full release timeline.
We’ll meet again in the near future. Until then, let’s keep surviving and see you on the 14th!
