We’re back on tracks

20210228 What’s good, gamers? It feels like it’s been a little while since we’ve had some new tracks, doesn’t it? Well we’ve got at least a couple new ones in the works!

added20210228 What’s good, gamers? It feels like it’s been a little while since we’ve had some new tracks, doesn’t it? Well we’ve got at least a couple new ones in the works! The idea is to have a decent mixture of short, medium and long distance tracks on each map for variety, so we’ll see how well we can accomplish that goal. The ship selection screen got a much-needed improvement, as did the AI racing capabilities, and we were able to locate an issue with our build settings that was causing poor performance and some other wonk in builds of the game. What does that mean? Hopefully smoother and better looking races for all!

  • AI: Races more intelligently

  • Ship selection screen touchups so it doesn’t look so stagnant

  • Framerate and graphic bump because our build settings were off

  • Online smoothing so other racers don’t jitter as much

  • FX: Seeking out whatever else we can include like blur

  • 0H: Changing to 10 shorter races

  • Throttle message adjustment to make it more evident when you should Throttle

  • HUD “Minimalist” option

  • Ship rotation revision so it looks more natural

  • Menu overhaul with tighter scope

  • Tracks: Frosinn, Imara additions

  • Bugs: Start reaction time might be off
