Yume No Office changes
Yume No Office is a special project. It started as a joke on a Discord server, then became a prototype that is no longer available, and eventually evolved into a version optimized for Steam that received generally positive reviews.
The remaining two episodes are even more special—I funded them entirely on my own, and I lost my job halfway through production. Even so, after landing a new job, the only thing on my mind was that this project would finally be completed.
And so, after several delays due to work commitments and personal matters, the project is finally being released to the public, with the following list of changes:
Chapter 1
Five new events have been added—one for each protagonist—told from each character’s point of view. These events delve deeper into their pasts and resolve conflicts that were left unresolved in the first version.
The daily events with each character have been adjusted to make the affinity system flow more smoothly, allowing players to access most of the scenes and routes available in Chapter 1 more naturally.
Each protagonist received new visual content, including 1 to 2 additional outfits, 2 new poses, 3 CGs per character, and a general expansion of sprites, reaching a total of approximately 40 to 60 variations per character.
The game interface was completely redesigned, adopting a visual identity more consistent with the project’s current tone and artistic direction.
Chapter 2 and Chapter 3
The remaining content from Chapter 2 has been added, totaling 25 additional events and lasting approximately 5 to 7 hours.
The 2 hours of Chapter 3 have also been added, kicking off the final stretch of the main story.
New Features
If you recently completed Chapter 1, you can now skip directly to Chapter 2. Before doing so, the game will offer a summary of Chapter 1 and the option to view the 5 new events added in this version.
Endings
The game now features 5 different endings, but only one of them is the true ending. Be sure to make the best decision… or the hardest one.
Additional notes:
The English translation has been significantly improved. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are continuing to work closely with a translator to further improve it over the next month.
What does the future look like for Outsider Comet Studios and Team Yume?
The short answer is that we don’t know; the long answer is that we hope our first project will help us continue developing the many ideas we have in mind. On the other hand, the members of Team Yume will no longer be creating content for Yume No Office, since, as the director, this story has already reached the ending I had planned back in 2022.
But don’t worry—Team Yume will be back for another project. The team members are too valuable to the studio, and their names will appear in a potential future game, provided the results and sales meet expectations.
One last thing...
The soundtrack and art book will be added as DLC for the project sometime later this year. I'm sure you'll be interested in learning more about details that weren't mentioned, as well as additional content that doesn't affect the ending or the story—though it will obviously contain spoilers.
Okay, maybe there's one last thing...
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all for your support—even for the negative reviews of Chapter 1 (which we hope will change now that the chapters have ended, hehe)—because without them, we wouldn’t have been able to improve all the aspects that made Chapter 1 weak.
We hope the ending meets your expectations, and we look forward to seeing you in the future. For now, enjoy the tragic ending that has unfolded.
Sincerely, K_Bayashi, the director, and Team Yume
