Short story behind this update: this week two people I met sat down with

the demo and played for almost an hour each. They added me on Discord, let me watch them play, called the game addicting, and got stuck on the

same handful of things. I spent today fixing those things.

So this update is basically: them.

**R to restart**

The pause menu was killing the retry flow. Now hit R and you're back at

the start instantly. No clicks, no menu. The way a climbing game should

already have worked.

**The water actually sounds like a threat now**

Before this update the water was a silent menace, which honestly didn't

match how stressful it should feel. There's now a constant ambient layer,

plus a proximity layer that gets louder as the water gets closer to you.

Combined with the new bubbles you should hear and see it coming before

it gets you.

**Bubbles**

While we're on the water it now has bubbles drifting up from the

surface. Small thing, but the water feels alive now instead of static.

**Signposts**

Added wooden signs at the spots where both playtesters got confused.

They point. That's it.

**The boring but important stuff**

  • Footsteps don't double-trigger anymore (small thing, weirdly noticeable)

  • Torch barrel audio cleanup

  • Few small bugs squashed

If you're already playing - thank you. Half this update only exists

because two random people gave me their afternoon. If you haven't tried

the demo yet - it's free, a run is 10-15 minutes, I'd genuinely love

to know what you think.
