💎 YOLO Mode — The Search For More Tendies Update

Two months ago we yeeted YOLO Mode onto Steam. Since then we've been updating our other released games, anbd working on a new game with our heads-down, but we haven't forgotten about this game. We been spending time wiring up every system that shipped bolted-on-but-not-plugged-in, rebalancing every mode until the math actually rewards conviction, and squashing the kind of bugs that make a degen alt-F4. This is the big one — our first major update, and it touches literally every mode in the game.

🆕 Switched On (new stuff you can actually use now)

• Perks system is LIVE — pick 1 of 3 perks before each week, stack them across

  a win streak, and lose them all when the streak breaks. Hit a 3-streak and you'll get

  the Double or Nothing offer: half stake, double payout, total ruin. 12 perks,

  all fully wired.

• The Degenerates Feed — a live WSB-style chat docked next to your trades that

  reacts to your buys, your gains, your losses, your diamond-handing, and the news. It

  will hype you up. It will also roast you.

• Settlement cinematic — weeks now close out with a proper moment: the freeze,

  the gold close-line, the animated P/L count-up, and a reaction tiered to how hard you

  won or got wiped.

• The market is alive now — market mood, weekly news, sector heat, insider tips,

  and SEC investigations all feed into real price drift. Reading the tape is finally a

  skill that pays.

• New stock: SpaceX ($SPCX) — a fresh high-volatility moonshot joins the board,

  bringing the lineup to 24 tickers. All prices refreshed to current 2026 quotes.

• Dynamic music — that ramps with the intensity of a live trade, plus a guided

  first trade for fresh apes.

🎮 Every Mode Rebalanced

• Career Mode — the big fix. The market used to go basically nowhere over a

  year, top grades were mathematically unreachable, and the Q4 dividend never even paid.

  Now the market trends up like a real index, picking better stocks actually earns you

  alpha, grades are tuned to be achievable (S is still a legendary stretch), and your

  milestones actually fire. Also: a proper -/qty/+ stepper in the broker.

• Deep Value (Roaring Kitty Mode) — a substantial update. The TRADING HALT — the

  single biggest scripted moment — didn't always fire. Now it lands every squeeze. The

  activist entry, the Melvin margin call, and the congressional hearing used to get

  silently eaten; now they reliably hit, and the hearing happens while it still matters.

  We collapsed ~30 weeks of dead post-squeeze runtime, made "Rally the Apes" a real

  decision with real consequences, and split the endings into distinct prestige tiers

  (LEGENDARY DIAMOND HANDS for holding vs. PAPER HANDS — Sold The Top for nailing the peak).

• Survival Mode — fixed the soft-lock that could trap you on the Monday screen

  with no legal move. Going broke now ends in a clean, explicit WIPEOUT instead of a

  confusing dead-end. (The difficulty curve checked out healthy — no nerfs needed.)

  YOLO Challenge — capped the edge on a perfectly-read market so a flawless call

  is a strong, rewarding payoff instead of guaranteed free money. It's still a gamble.

  It's always a gamble.

💰 Fair Play

We closed a pile of exploits and accounting bugs: a mid-week refund trick, shorts that

paid you to open them, double-settled weeks, an infinite covered-call payout, and

fraction-of-a-penny "lottery ticket" contracts. Option pricing now uses a proper

252-trading-day year (options were underpriced ~20%), P/L reconciles correctly to your

cash, and leveraged blowups now margin-call you to $0 instead of going negative. Earnings

whispers are a real 70% edge now, not a guaranteed oracle.

🛠️ Stability, Saves & Steam

• Fixed a crash that could brick a Career save (and we rescue saves already hit by it).

• Rebuilt the save system — autosaves that silently weren't saving now save; writes

  are atomic with a backup, so a crash mid-save can't eat your run.

• Steam Cloud now keeps the newer copy across machines instead of letting a stale

  one win.

• Fixed the audio sliders — Music/SFX volume actually does something now, and saved levels

  apply on boot.

🎨 UI & Quality of Life

• Low-priced strikes (looking at you, $AMC) now show cents, so three different strikes

  no longer all read as "$2."

• Trading screen cleanup: the perk picker is a solid panel now, the LIVE TRADE buttons

  all fit on-screen, and the feed no longer overlaps the trade panel.

• The broker can never become a dead-end — there's always a way back out.

• Smoother live trading: the positions table updates in place instead of rebuilding

  constantly (this also fixes sell buttons occasionally not registering).

• Scrollable achievement galleries, visible option-expiry alerts, pre-earnings news now

  clearly flagged as a RUMOR, and assorted typo cleanup.

🌍 Now better localized in all 7 Languages

YOLO Mode is now more fully localized in English, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese,

Russian, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese — UI, perks, achievements, hundreds of news

headlines, analyst whispers, trader ranks, and all the mode flavor. (The meme chat stays

in its native tongue. Some things are universal.)

We re-encoded the soundtrack and cut a mountain of unused code, dropping the install weight.
