Repeated intro
Greetings, the Volkhv(mages) faction is now available to try. This update adds the following:
Extracted changes
- Gameplay
- Balance
- Fixes
Several new quests for the new faction. A couple of new dungeons.
Magic, enchanted rings, as well as Volkhv magic that works through a staff.
New passive abilities related to magic.
New damage types have been added to the game: fire, cold, lightning, poison, darkness, and holiness. This means ice enemies can no longer be frozen, and fire enemies can no longer be set ablaze, etc.
The archer is now a fully developed class. I added 4 abilities for it, and also made attack speed depend on Dexterity, so with high Dexterity you can now shoot quite fast. I also fixed the damage.
- CosmeticNew arrow types have been addedpoisonous, icy, and explosive - and I also fixed fire arrows. Arrows can now be purchased from Beloyar, Vladunya, Nezhdan, and Radobor.
The ability to respec attributes and get back your points and spent money. So if you leveled Strength and then decide to join the Volkhvs, you can reset Strength and invest into Wisdom instead.
Ore veins can now be broken with fireballs.
Light and Dark Staves have been added. Each type has its own set of abilities. A regular Volkhv wears white robes, while one who follows darkness wears black. The difference between them is as follows: a regular Volkhv focuses on elemental damage and mana regeneration, while a dark Volkhv has health regeneration and is more of a defensive mage. For now there is only 1 visual version for each, but in the coming days I will add visuals for T2 and T3 armor.
I adjusted the balance of monsters and bosses, buffed weaker ones, and tuned resistances.
While working on all this, I also fixed various bugs I came across along the way.
Plans for the coming weeks:
It is time to seriously focus on bugs. I will go through all the topics from the past 2 years and try to fix everything I can. If something does not get fixed, it means either I did not have enough knowledge yet, or there were some technical difficulties. I see everything you write, I read every single comment since the start of Early Access - here, on Telegram, and on Discord. And I never leave anything without attention. If something has not been fixed yet, there are only 2 possible reasons: either I have not found a way to fix it yet, or it will be fixed later.
After bug polishing, I will move on to optimization - though most likely I will be doing that in parallel.
And in the end, the only thing left will be to add achievements. I do not yet know whether I will keep updating bit by bit, or release one big bugfix patch all at once - we will see how it goes))
