changedIt has been a busy month for Xenonauts 2, with 3 stable patches coming to the main branch. These patches include gameplay and balance changes, localization fixes, and taking care of those nasty bugs. If you've missed any Xenonauts 2 development news, this is the place to get all caught up. Let's get into the roundup below.
changedXenonauts 2 News RecapUpdate #8 focused heavily on stability, localization, and gameplay improvements like allowing the camera to be moved in tactical combat with a click-and-drag middle-mouse-button system. It also updated the accuracy drop-off system, preventing soldiers with exceptionally high accuracy from sometimes shooting an enemy so far off that the action did no damage, as well as short-range hit bonuses being changed to be calculated from the first adjacent tile rather than the target tile. This update also contains several bug fixes and other gameplay improvements. Make sure to check out the full changelog here .
changedXenonauts 2 News RecapThe full release of 7.24.2 consolidated many changes tested and made in the beta branch. This update focuses on continuing gameplay improvements, balance changes, and bugfixes. Some standout changes include fixing a bug that caused the monthly funding modifier to improperly calculate, which caused every difficulty to receive only the base modifier (100%). Now, the soldier gets an extra 10% funding (110%), and the recruit gets an additional 25% funding (125%). Recoil received some balance changes as a result of fixing an inheritance bug with some weapons, and there was another large pass over localization issues, with even more being solved. Check out the full patch notes here !
changedXenonauts 2 News RecapThe most recent update 7.25.2 continues improving gameplay, rebalancing especially around air combat, and continues squashing bugs. Air combat had various changes and improvements in this patch, such as increasing the rate at which autoresolve calculations are performed and cutting down on the time more complex autoresolves took previously. Aircraft with afterburners active will now continue closing on their target UFO, making it easier to get in close range and stay there. Xenonaut Air Squadron will also now automatically return to base if all Xenonaut interceptors retreat from the previous combat. Of course, this update is not all about air combat, so check out the patch notes here to see what we couldn't fit in the roundup.
