Looking back at some areas from X Wars today.

One thing I’ve always liked about older sci-fi games is the feeling that the world existed long before the player arrived — and may continue long after.

Cold industrial structures, distant machine sounds, abandoned corridors, silent facilities still operating without anyone left inside. There’s something unsettling about systems continuing to function after their original purpose has been forgotten.

That atmosphere influenced a lot of X Wars. I wanted parts of the game to feel isolated, mechanical, and slightly oppressive rather than overly cinematic or heroic.

I still enjoy creating environments like that, and I’ll probably share more small thoughts, screenshots, and worldbuilding details here over time.
